Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Westside, while I applaud the effort you have gone into in producing these maps for your proposed Outer North contract area, this is not the place to post them. Feel free to create a topic in the forum Armchair Operators & Fantasy Networks http://www.busaustralia.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=71 Thanks...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Thanks. :) The map is made by taking Admet's original map and using my very limited photoshop skills over the top. It's just lines and squares at a high res, but they look ok when zoomed out at that height. Yeah, my idea is around fewer routes that connect through the main stations. Rather than dump...

Re: Current Bus Contracts/Renewals
Given the drastic changes to other contract areas. I was thinking about what a significantly overhauled Outer North area would look like. There's no reason the Outer Suburbs don't deserve high-frequency routes too. I think there are also a lot of routes that can be consolidated to make this happen. ...

Re: Consultation on new AdMet Network
Anyone important read these forums? I’d like to see “Route 237” reintroduced extended to Tea Tree Plaza as sometimes it’s a hassle with the 361 it doesn’t always connect when you need it. That thought goes against the mantra of the new network, which is fewer routes, less duplication but higher fre...

Re: Bus zones in King William Rd
Well no considering I've never looked into anything to do with it. I wasn't sure if it was one big City Council like Brisbane or multiple councils like Melbourne or Sydney. I was just making a suggestion. Soz. I just noted you were from Brisbane. Adelaide is split up into multiple local council's l...

Re: Major weekend track closure - Southern lines
Cool, thanks for the suggestions! At least the Altandi option is timetabled, so there is a level of reassurance assuming the GC trains still run to timetable for the VL to Yeerongpilly section. And the 140/130s still run every 15 mins on weekends and seem pretty fast, so that's not a terrible option...

Major weekend track closure - Southern lines
Track closure for all southern lines next weekend. https://translink.com.au/service-updates/231291 My question is, where does one go for more information about the substitute buses? Ie a map, route description or a timetable would be great. The lady at Central said there would be buses leaving centr...

I haven't read the plans in detail, but does anyone know if regular buses will still use the upgraded busway (even just in parts), or if the busway will become a banana bus-only right of way?

Re: BUS ROUTES TO BE SCRAPPED IN DRIVE FOR SAVINGS
Speaking of short services, if the 150Ps were removed, this would free up a bit of funding for the 333s to return. Surely these are even more useless given that they only operate to reduce not in service running. They must have been implemented by Labor as a result of them possibly being persuaded ...

Re: October Bus Timetable changes
What is this obsession with connecting rail/bus services so close to the city? For many people, you would need to get from where you are in the city (Hutt Street, Central Market, South Tce for example) to Adelaide Railway Station , wait up to 15 minutes for a train, then get off and get a connectin...

Re: October Bus Timetable changes
The old 333 and 336 routes used to integrate will with the OH train both at Glanville for LeFevre Peninsular sections and at Ethelton for the Semaphore Park/West Lakes Shore sections. Eventually these routes were split, redirected and some sections cut entirely. Only the 333 between Osborne and Glan...

I've seen that one, but there is something more recent that basically says that more tram extensions will not happen!! I will try and find it. They've said they are still open to the idea of an extension to North Adelaide, and their quarter city loop idea. Norwood is definitely off the table, as is...

Re: New O-bahn Tunnel
And I have heard a comment that only a certain number of buses will be allowed in the tunnel section at any one time and that the restriction will be severe and as a result buses might finish up queueing to enter the tunnel at rush hour times, thus negating the so called 4 minute time saving as cla...

The whole tram to Footy Park thing was reliant on football staying at FP long term, and was planned well before the move to Adelaide Oval. I thought they quietly scrapped it sometime after that? The tram to West Lakes was always designed to feed a new TOD on the land that would become vacant after ...

T722X/TE721XXF rubbish. Is everyone forgetting that when the Darlington interchange and Tonsley Rail extension, they are opening a bus 'interchange' on Main South Rd to interchange directly with the Flinders Rail Line? My hope is that does away with ALL of the 72#F T72#, 72#X, TL72#FXE nonsense and...

Re: 2017 MAC Footy Express Services
Can anyone tell me why the Osborne Footy Extra Trains don't run express from Woodville to Adelaide like the Seaford one's do? There is a Grange train 5 mins behind, like the Seaford trains have a Tonsley train right behind. So I can't see why you need this extra capacity for these interim stations!

All an extension of the o-bahn to GG would do is route the C1 and C2 buses off Golden Grove Rd and on to the track. The 548 and G40 buses will be the only services on GG Rd. All other services will remain the same. Is it worth it to save 4 buses an hour a few mins, probably not. There would have to ...

While I like what they're trying to do with the 163/J# buses, its execution has turned it into a dog's breakfast. West Beach residents traveling off-peak now don't have to travel via the airport, but it comes at a cost - their 15 minute peak frequency on the 162 is now up to a paltry 30 mins - the s...

Re: Adelaide Strikers v Melbourne Stars Friday, 18th
Again, AOX buses won't run unless they are subsidised. AFL patrons pay for the service through their ticket prices. If the A-League want the same service, then they need to pay for it and attempt to get that money back through increased ticket prices. Capacity will be there, just not for free and at...

What a joke, It's a world first day-night test match that they are expecting over 10,000 people but the best Admet can do is but on "extra services"? Idiots. Rant Over Remember that Football patrons pay for their 'free' services as part of their admission. Surely the same could/could be done for th...

Re: Bus route numbers (split from "What Public Transport Did
I don't mind the X30. Many other cities have the express (or otherwise) pattern indicator at the start of the route number. Ie Sydney with routes such as M30, X03, L37, E50 etc. Doing this will help with the mix up between which letters mean a short-run and which mean a different stopping pattern. T...
