Re: Introducing OPAL Card
So, what you're saying is that using Opal, people won't get discounts as as some kind of a reward simply for pre-purchasing trips, but that instead discounts will be structured in such a way as to actually provide an incentive to use public transport more frequently? Please explain what is wrong wi...

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
So in each case Opal us better off and not worse. You can prove anything if you use incorrect figures. The difference comes about because Opal is based on a calendar week cycle. MyBus uses a 10 trip cycle and MyMulti and MyTrain weeklies use 7 day cycles. People are overlooking the fare rise becaus...

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
it could be cheapor to use Opal for some users if they undertake multiple bus trips as they would have to pay separate fares but for opal you only have to pay one fare for all of the bus trips you make in one journey Most definetly anyone who say catches 2 or more buses to work and even using trave...

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
The occasional bus users who might be worse off are really people who are occasional public transport users, and happen to use buses, so I'm not really going to shed any tears over people paying slightly more when they are infrequent users anyway. I believe that it has pointed out before in this th...

Does anyone have a diagram of the new dulwich hill station? I know there was one somewhere, but I'm trying to figure out how people will interchange. Re: Easiest way to identify frequency of bus services in an
Hi, There is a quick way. 1) Find the Stop ID of the stop you are interested in using Google Maps. Click on the bus stop symbol then select 'more info'. There may be two IDs listed (one for either side of the street). 2) On the Translink Homepage select 'Travel Information' from the menu along the t...

Re: Largest Bus Operator in Australia & This World
From the Fleetlist, this seems to be the current state of play: 1. State Transit Authority of New South Wales (2165 Buses) 2. ComfortDelgro Cabcharge (1564 Buses) 3. Transdev (1557 Buses) 4. Brisbane Transport (1213 Buses) 5.Transit Systems (1060 Buses) 6. Australian Transit Enterprises (922 Buses) ...

Re: Ventura/Grenda Group news January - June 2014
Can someone help me work out the current size of the Ventura group's fleet?
I think that it is 901 buses which I get by adding up the 312 from the Ventura fleetlist and the 589 from the Ventura/Grenda fleetlist.
Is this right?
I apologise if this is the wrong venue for this question.

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
Simplistic slogans like 'why don't just learn how to dodge the weekly travel reward and travel for less?' and 'The more travel you make, the more you will save, sa simple as that.' aren't really very helpful. I use a MyBus3 to make four return journeys a week to work. At present I pay $29.44 using M...

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
A follow up question is about the $52 weekly cap for ferries. Travelling by train for 65km+ and then by ferry for 9km+ would trigger the daily cap of 15km but would only count for one journey towards the weekly travel reward. The return journey would then be free. I assume that this free return jour...

Re: Introducing OPAL Card
This may have been covered before but I can not find the answer. Is the maximum weekly fare $60? The Opal website says that, "After 8 paid journeys in a week, all journeys after that are free to customers." The most expensive journey that doesn't include a ferry* would be $12.60 if you tra...

Re: *Opal Card INFRASTRUCTURE roll-out progress ONLY*
I wonder if rail replacement buses will be equipped with Opal readers? This includes the (mostly) charter operators such as Baxters. The reason for asking is that some bus stops serving these services are located well away from stations. I looked this up when I was in London, for trackwork on South...

Re: N184 Did Not Stop When I Hailed It Down
If you were say in Camlet St wishing to go to Garden City don't bother as the service probably won't even turn up. If you were in Camlet St, you'd most likely be pond-scum anyway, and therefore a danger to the driver and passengers. Even 20 years ago, Camlet St had a certain reputation.

Well of course if they sent you a product completely different to the one you purchased, then you would be entitled to a refund/replacement... I think Newcastle Flyer is right, if a product is different from what was advertised then you are entitled to a refund:

Re: Hillsbus - Proposal for Routes 627, 612 & 602
Opal will speed things up but it is already pretty seamless if you use a Mybus 3 and ask for a transfer ticket. This whole business of "asking for a transfer ticket" is quite obscure, and doesn't seem to be explained anywhere. I've done it overseas, but never ever in Sydney. Regular bus u...
