Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

A few scattered thoughts and observations on all this: The split between 42 and 43 reminds me (and not in a good way) of what we had in the 80s and 90s with routes like the 67/69, 208/209, 261/267 etc. where different numbers were used to indicate common variations. In this case I believe it's becau...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

Term 2 service changes: even more additional trips due to increasing patronage, some are due to the Armadale Line closure but others clearly are not. Will be particularly interesting to see the full extent of improvements to route 353. So it turns out that the 353 will double its off-peak and weeke...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

The recent announcement of free travel on Sundays got me thinking about bus routes that currently lack services that day, and ought to be upgraded to run throughout the week. So here's my list, ranked roughly in order from high to low priority. **Indicates a route that would start running on Saturda...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

The 507 has been a 15 minute service for a number of years. I think it's only for school days. Weekends it's 30 minutes all day, and hourly after 1930. No, Saturdays and school-holiday weekdays have been every 15 minutes for well over a decade at this point, and evenings throughout the week have be...

Have noticed the new readers are now rolling out along the Joondalup line, while Bayswater is getting the new AVMs (one card, one cash so far).

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

Some more encouraging news, given that university patronage was reported to be a lot slower in bouncing back from Covid compared to the rest of the network. Route 100 – Additional Services Thu 07 Mar From Thursday 7 March, Route 100 will operate additional trips on Curtin University days in response...

105,000 boardings on the Ferry in December. Even higher than the record set when Elizabeth Quay first opened, and the first time it's ever reached 6 digits :!:

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

A couple of improvements planned for next month. Purple CAT seems to be doing well. March Bus Service Changes Sun 03 Mar From Sunday 3 March, the following routes will undergo changes: Route 37 Will no longer terminate at Stop 11720 (Albany Hwy near Baillie Av). Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

New TransBunbury timetables were also effective from 28 January. Route 843 now runs a 30-minute weekday frequency until just after midday towards Bunbury and between around 10am and 1pm towards Dalyellup, and has additional trips at peak times. However the Thursday night trips have been withdrawn ne...

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions

Bunbury is temporarily gaining a high-frequency bus service :P Route 825 will run every 5-10 minutes between Bunbury Forum and Koombana Bay for the Bunbury Sky Fest, not sure if such a service has happened before in a regional town? https://www.pta.wa.gov.au/Portals/15/TransRegional/TransBunbury/Bun...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

They were nowhere near as savage with (truncating) the Guildford Rd services as I thought they might be - I was expecting something quite radical that would shorten most of the routes, replacing them with a high-frequency route, and the 42 having some moderate enhancement given it has seemed so bus...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

I'm more interested in 507 getting upgraded to 15 minute frequency like 915. That would've been a nice one to have as part of the Armadale Line shutdown changes, though obviously was not to be. It is included as a future route shown in the Cannington Station development application though (either 9...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

Good to see it's a more developed network than originally proposed for day one (from the Metronet PDP summary) Peak frequencies are every 20 minutes north of Eglinton and every 10 minutes south of there, with the exception of route 479 (Clarkson route every 20 minutes) and possibly 481 (stated every...

Bit of a long shot, but I wonder if anyone has digitalised copies of timetables from the early era of electrification on the Transperth Trains network? Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes 2024

I note (with some interest) quite a few of the school-related changes seem to be curtailing the number of trips that deviate via a school, instead opting to commence trips separately from those schools... too many students running amok, aggravating the general public and causing a continuous stream...

As expected, service changes across the network are happening in time for school to commence.
