Re: Difficult right hand turns for bus routes

I think it depends on the route frequency, the time spent waiting to turn, and any potential danger to justify the cost. I know that the Blackwood and Eden Hills communities have, at times, been concerned about buses turning from Northcote Rd onto Shepherds Hill Rd. However, there are not enough ser...

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

Does anyone know how many more of the new Bustech artics will be made? Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe there are currently 3 at TT and 1 at Southlink which is the 3380. Are there any more details on these buses and how they are going? TT has 5 (1190–1194). Busways has 2865 and SouthLink 3380....

July 2023 AdMet timetable changes

Some dedicated school services are being modified. I know of one particular route which will be servicing an entirely different area and set of schools. It’s interesting to see re-use of a current route number. Interesting to see that occur! Presume new timetables will be out sometime this week? Su...

Re: [Jan-Jun 2023] SA Transport observations

1970 bus observed today with a new validator accepting tap and go. This however removes the option of using a paper (magnetic) ticket. I guess magnetic tickets are soon to be a thing of the past. DIT released a video on YouTube today detailing the changes that will take place by mid-2023. metroTick...

That's interesting to see Busways operate M44Cs, even if it was due to strike action. Did they operate any other TT services?

Re: [Jan-Mar 2023] SA Transport observations

This might be old news but Busways front destos seem to be in a different style now with uppercase top lines (final destinations) and scrolling bottom lines with additional information (i.e., via, connects)

Re: [Oct-Dec 2022] SA transport observations

It seems that TT vehicle blocking/scheduling is changing every few days (for only a day at a time). Trips are being run from different depots (sometimes with different vehicle types) and trips seem be to blocked differently in general (from looking at the GTFS timetable). Is this to cover daily chan...

Is 1190 O-Bahn equipped? I know that it was at some point as it was tested on the track, but I’m not sure on the status of that.

Re: [July-Sep 2022] SA transport observations

I don’t think Scania have a hybrid artic chassis, and as far as I know the 4 complete and 7 under construction K360UAs/VSTs are all diesel. The wording may be because these haven’t entered serviced yet and some haven’t left BusTech.

Re: [July-Sep 2022] SA transport observations

According to a tweet from Tom Koutsantonis, the last pure diesel bus has been delivered, with future deliveries to be either hybrid or electric. https://twitter.com/TKoutsantonisMP/status/1575367433665523712?s=20&t=_PyU9fWL-4JVKK94q88VmQ I believe that makes the last pure diesel buses TT 5024 a...

The Bustech/BYDs in Tasmania at SkyBus have a normal looking window line. No reason that couldn’t be bought over to a ZDi.

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

Are the front axles on track buses lower than non-track buses? I’ve seen a fair few track artics running around the place and appear to be knelt while driving.

Re: The Random Admet Question Thread

I've noticed that some Port Adelaide buses have had new driver security shields/screens installed that extend to the front. Additionally, it looks like the cash dispensers have been removed. I know 1935 has had this modification. Does any know if this is a trial or a full rollout?
