Re: CDC Victoria News 2017

The rear of the bus only has the fleet number, because the plate is visible. The sides have both, because the sides don't have plates.

The 90km/h restriction was recently lifted in preparation for running on the Werribee line.

Re: Victorian Rail & Tram Observations July - December 2016

Xtrapolis trains started regular operation on the Frankston line today, and will commence service on the Williamstown and Werribee lines tomorrow. 3 sets seen in all day service on Tuesday. It would be interesting to know if Metro have enough spare Xtrapolis sets to cover these services or if there...

Re: Changes down the line for Melbourne's tram routes

I'm referring to the current direct train journeys from the Cranbourne, Pakenham and Sunbury lines to the eastern end of the CBD at Parliament station, which will require a change to a second train or to a tram at Flinders Street once the metro tunnel opens. I would have thought people from Cranbou...

Re: Changes down the line for Melbourne's tram routes

It provides extra trams from Flinders Street station to the eastern end of the CBD to go some way towards making up for the loss of a direct train journey to that end of the CBD.

But aren't they excavating the stations out from under the street, from acquired pieces of land beside the street (such as City Square, or the north west corners of Swanston and Flinders, and Swanston and La Trobe), without closing the street?

Re: Changes down the line for Melbourne's tram routes

The problem is having no tracks in Swanston St. The useless PTV and useless tunnel people can't build a station without removing them, despite the fact that the tunnel has to be below river level already. Today's engineers simply can't cope, and want to maximise their own convenience. Roderick But ...

Re: Changes down the line for Melbourne's tram routes

With 24 distinct tram routes, why have the numbers spread through 1 to 109? Why go for a new 58 . The use of the suffix a and d has reduced the former multiplicity of numbers. Simplify the numbers. ST KILDA ROAD 1. East Coburg - South Melbourne Beach and Arts Centre via University 2. [ex 67] Carneg...

The online timetables for the 564 & 569 routes also show a date starting from July 24, but something is wrong. Every service is shown twice and there is no difference to the current timetables. The start of the Plenty Valley network would be a perfect time to get rid of the ridiculous 20/40 fre...
