Re: Sydney harbour immersed tube tunnel.

Selim k from Architecture, Uzbekistan (Oʻzbekiston) made the first comment on my incrementally launched immersed tunnel yesterday but I don’t know what it was ha ha https://3dwarehouse.sketchup.com/model/70a00424-fca2-4630-aece-ae30d7532bf6/Incrementally-launched-immersed-tunnel?scrollTo=64635e82-3b...

Re: Climate change

Germany was going to trade with Russia while they went green but Donald Trump wanted to sell gas to them so he stopped the Nord 2 gas line so Putin had nothing to lose.
Now the world is spending just as much on defence as going green while the poor countries starve.

Re: Electric bikes etc.

Wait, eddy you're an oldie? I had you pegged for a teenager :) I am 77 and I always thought if we could work smarter we would only need one income 4 days a week but even though there are only 10% making steel, cars, or coal mines everybody is flat out. The best suggestion I made was to build the Sy...

After watching the rise of Japanese watches https://www.youtube.com/results?search_ ... nese+watch it made me think about the best steam engine was the last and perhaps HSR will go the same way with maglev the future.

Electric bikes etc.

As cars have to keep clear of bikes so also should any sort of bike and scooters have to keep a good distance from pedestrians regardless if it is electric or not.

This will allow electric bikes and scooters while stopping bikes of any sort flying past us oldies.

Re: Parrahub and Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra

60 minutes is right with some overnighters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b56MpwyrAhI especially if they have been up all day doing pickups. It would be faster, cheaper, cleaner and safer with a 700 km/h overnight SC maglev container train connecting freight sidings at Sydney and Melbourne making d...

Re: Parrahub and Sydney to Melbourne Maglev via Canberra

Labor housing https://www.alp.org.au/policies/safer-and-more-affordable-housing. 5% of $10,000,000,000 p/a = $500,000,000 so 6,000 each year over 5 years @ $83,000 each and with the average block of land in Sydney $500,000 Labor must be building cheap units on existing housing commission blocks rath...

Re: Sydney harbour immersed tube tunnel.

It would be best to decide now if the tunnels will be done deeper with a TBM so the ones they are driving now can be deeper to limit the grade.

Re: Climate change

It seems to me to be an afterthought welding the Nowra bridge as they would not have put the hand rails on only to take them off again so I think they must be worried that in 100 years it may float away.

Just watched China to Russia HSR that talks about freight trains on HSR lines https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bUL8XJdyLD8&t=323s There are no true HSR that carry freight trains making planes more economical than passenger rail and that is why very big democracies do not have them but an overnigh...

Re: Hydrogen storage.

Although this machine is minimum of 4.5 metres https://www.herrenknecht.com/en/product ... chine-vsm/ perhaps the tank could be a bit wider.

It may cost far more initially than a surface tank but it would be far easier to keep it liquid.

Re: Hydrogen storage.

Think you need to do some more research. Per unit of energy compressed hydrogen is 3-4x less dense than petroleum products, though it is lighter - so it takes up more space. Hence the renders of hydrogen aircraft by Airbus have the back 1/4 or so with no windows. Secondly due to this compression af...

Unsurprisingly, the area had a wonderful open feel about it and when the railway and road was built it certainly walled ...

Re: Ferry Observations for 2022,

As it would cost too much to move the Cahill expressway perhaps the wharfs could be upgraded one at a time while creating more space next to the station by about 20m even with a roof with solar panels. To upgrade the Quay perhaps the floating sections could be towed away for a paint job with the ri...

As the Hydrogen tank can fill six times more cars than a petrol tank of the same size it would be a great drawcard for service centres to install one at no charge to the state government.

Re: Hydrogen storage.

Just in case I have stuffed up my calculations A cylinder 2.5m x 14m has a volume of 275m3 of liquid hydrogen @ 71 kg per m3 = 19,525 kg The Toyota Mira takes 5kg of hydrogen for 400km and takes 4 minutes to fill so the 19,525 kg tank of liquid hydrogen should fill 4,000 cars. PS If NSW puts 100 hyd...

As battery cars are heavy and need many thousands of charge points I had this thought. At every town drive a 3m diameter hole 20m deep then place vertically a 2.5m x 14m plastic tank then temporarily fill the tank with water simultaneously as concrete is placed in the gap with a cap of 6m this can b...

Federal Labor wants to reduce inflation with productivity.

Parrahub would double the availability of homecare workers without a drivers licence.

Sydney to Melbourne freight sidings with overnight container trains that carry far more freight faster than any trucks.
