Re: SmartRider Upgrade
The new machines are apparently on track to be installed by mid-year When will these be installed across the Transperth network? The deployment of the new machines will take place in a phased manner following the successful pilot phase. The rollout of these machines is expected to commence and be co...

Looks like it links to the first airport service of the day. It arrives at Perth Busport at 5:03 and the first Airport line train leaves Perth station at 5:12.

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2022
There's some vague wording there for the 282 about "Changes to the frequency and operating hours of the service." With any luck that means the Lesmurdie area might get a better service at night, and on weekends (esp. Sundays!). The new timetable is now up. https://www.transperth.wa.gov.au...

Re: New Transperth Fares Schedule - January 2022
Anomalies like that (short journeys being more expensive than some longer ones - CircleRoute being a prominent example) are what the Government should've targeted with their reforms instead of chucking untold sums of money at a cheap fares regime. I assume there will be more ticketing reform when t...

Re: New Transperth Fares Schedule - January 2022
No - The notice stipulates this is a fare cap, and users will still be required to purchase the requisite ticket (up to 9 zones) to complete their journey. This is of course done automatically on SmartRider transactions. It would be pretty ridiculous if people were fined for using a two zone ticket...

Re: Forrestfield-Airport Link Project
The inner stations from Bayswater on will be served by both the Airport and regular Midland services. I'm not sure what the practical distinction would be between it being a spur and a line of its own.

The 15 minute summer frequency should also make the ferry more attractive to tourists. Another thing to note is that ferries will operate to the summer timetable in September rather than the winter timetable. I don't know why they reduce the frequency so drastically from June to August given that f...

Re: The Next Station is...Elizabeth Quay
Something that hasn't been mentioned in this thread - and purely a historical diversion with no particular relevance to today - is that Perth railway station was actually named City for quite a while. I think this dated from the construction of Perth Terminal in 1969. Presumably this was to avoid c...
