Re: Unknown Operators / Unidentified Buses

Last time I saw it a week ago it had Souths Juniors signage all over it.
It’s not classed as a public bus, so it doesn’t require accreditation.

Re: Bus Observations 2024.

How many buses are there in R9 numbered 2108? I had 4 random rides on 396s today, and on 3 of them "2108" appeared. I feel jinxed LOL.

Re: Bus Observations 2024.

The general public is not going to be too concerned by who made them, the names would be meaningless.
The fact they will be diesel and made in China is enough to get detractors in a frenzy.

Re: Bus Observations 2024.

I was in Crows Nest yesterday, and I noticed that the bus tops in Burlington St still have the J poles showing section numbers and stand numbers (1, 2, 3, etc.) Information on apps refers to Stands A, B, C, etc. I sent feedback to TfNSW about it and there was response was" The bus stop signage ...

I doubt that any manufacturer here would be able to go through all the ordering red tape here to even start manufacturing within 6 months months, let alone complete 60 within that time frame.

L2/3 testing started with these slow speed late night runs for a short period, then went over to daytime runs. Eventually working up to full timetable ghost operations.

Re: Parramatta light rail

I think if they are going to reverse trams there, it might have been better to put the crossover to the east of the stop. The problem then is passengers travelling east have to know which side to board their tram. I guess they have to check the indicators, or the destination signs, which seems to w...

Although they haven't manufactured that model since 2011, they probably have stocks of spare panels to cover such events.

Variable message signs around Parramatta were advising that tram testing starts on 21 March. Not sure why that date is mentioned.
Maybe start of daytime testing?

The stations might be ready, but will the building structures above them be finished? Seems like still a lot of work to be done at ground level and above at the CBD stations.

Re: Parramatta light rail

Guess that now they will have to dig up the tracks in Macquarie St to put in a junction for the new terminus stub. How long will that take? I notice there's already a set of cross-overs to the immediate west of the Parramatta Square stop. I wonder whether there would be enough time to shunt over an...

Re: Parramatta light rail

There would be a maximum of 8 minutes between services on either direction. It would require some adept scheduling to get the maximum benefit of these gaps.
This seems to have been recognised with the inclusion of a turn back.

The new metro won't be of much use for people who travel along Victoria Rd, or whose destinations are not within the catchment of the stations.
