Re: Timetable Changes 2024,

Perhaps in Castlereagh St, Museum Stand F; returning via Bathurst, Elizabeth, Park ?? Castlereagh Street is a difficult place for buses these days. No left or right turns permitted from Castlereagh into Bathurst or Liverpool, cycleway construction, eventually cycleway leaving only one through traff...

Re: Royle Bros. Austerity's.

“normal control” is where the driver is behind the engine and front axle.
Presumably you mean “Forward control” where the driver is beside or in front of the engine.
“Half cab” is a body design for forward control whereby access to the engine is outside the vehicle.

Re: Dress Standards on Public transport

I can recall from years back there was a requirement that passengers had to wear at least a singlet or equivalent. I’ve seen people denied boarding buses without it.

Re: Royle Bros. Austerity's.

During the war, most motor vehicle production in UK and USA was limited to military needs. Civilian requirements were subject to "essential" services, and subject to government rationing. When the DGT wanted more buses, all that was available were Ford and White truck chassis. With an expe...

Re: Canberra light rail: Development applications approved in 'b

Canberra doesn't have much choice in deciding between bus and LR, so far there are no direct competing services.

The bus market in other states is much higher than in WA. Multiple suppliers spreads the load and keeps prices competitive.

Aren't some of the Hills district express services to the City likely to be cut back? Weren't some only kept running after the first stage opened due to the longer travel times involved with changing at Chatswood?

Last time I saw it a week ago it had Souths Juniors signage all over it.
It’s not classed as a public bus, so it doesn’t require accreditation.

How many buses are there in R9 numbered 2108? I had 4 random rides on 396s today, and on 3 of them "2108" appeared. I feel jinxed LOL.

The general public is not going to be too concerned by who made them, the names would be meaningless.
The fact they will be diesel and made in China is enough to get detractors in a frenzy.

Re: Parramatta light rail

I think if they are going to reverse trams there, it might have been better to put the crossover to the east of the stop. The problem then is passengers travelling east have to know which side to board their tram. I guess they have to check the indicators, or the destination signs, which seems to w...

Re: Parramatta light rail

Guess that now they will have to dig up the tracks in Macquarie St to put in a junction for the new terminus stub. How long will that take? I notice there's already a set of cross-overs to the immediate west of the Parramatta Square stop. I wonder whether there would be enough time to shunt over an...
