Re: Extra Covid 19 services

At Central this morning, I was chatting to the guard on the Canberra XPL. I joked about the small number of passengers on board, and he stated that only 32 passengers are carried and any overflow are carried in coaches. Running overflow coaches only seems to be something that has been put on for th...

Olympic Park is being used for Richmond services tonight, seems they have finally realised it's a bit congested at Sydney Terminal.

Re: NSW Railway Observations - July to December 2018

All trains heading to Hornsby tonight are using the new third track between Epping and Thornleigh which means all northbound trains are skipping Beecroft, as the only station without a platform on the third track. Once again this has not been communicated properly to customers, there is no service ...

Re: Station Link Observations

All the buses I used on Sunday, as well as a couple of other ones I looked at, had the gotham arches, so different to the ones in your photos. I am planning to have another go on Tuesday afternoon. I am looking at the brochure trying to decide which route to attempt. The Macquarie area is a traffic...

Re: NSW Railway Observations - July to December 2018

The Limited stopping patterns were the idea of the powers that be, to simplify things for commuters (ie they could just remember what train stopped where by what the previous one did)
As for the frequency, supposedly that all comes off the Opal Stats, so seems to be a few fare evaders down that way.

Re: NSW Future Rail Plan - NWRL/Metro/Harbour Crossing

“Metro integration - service adjustments 2018 fact sheets” have started being distributed at some T1 stations, from contractors wearing “MySydney” attire. (Sadly no Lee Lin Chin to be seen). These fact sheets are much more honest about the changes than the media release and online information. The ...

We seem to have fallen back onto rumours and 'informed leaks' as the Minister appears to have given up on announcing anything through TfNSW media releases. Has he actually resigned and not told anyone?

Re: NSW Railway Observations - January to June 2018

Just looking at the Trip Planner and apps, they seem to be quite different to the timetable. I think there might be some problems with the data because the Trip Planner is now showing it as a CCN train and also says Berowra is a short platform which I don't think is right. When referred to as a CCN...

Re: NSW Railway Observations - January to June 2018

Just looked into that last train of the night from Emu Plains at 10:42pm and came across more timetable changes! This train later forms an all stations to Berowra via Strathfield service leaving Central at 12:03am. And there's another T1 Northern Line train starting from Epping at 11:32pm all stati...

Re: NSW Railway Observations - January to June 2018

Has there been more cuts to weekend services? Last T1 train going through to Berowra tonight is the 8:45pm from Central (9:37pm from Hornsby). Yes, pre November Timetable, so back to the worst service frequency in the Sydney Trains area for Asquith-Berowra. I didn't realise it was that bad before, ...

As a daily commuter from Mt Colah I can attest to this. Seems abit out of proportion that we only get 30min peak services. Just another case of Miranda failing to do research.
How is removing a Conga line of Buses, interspersed with the odd Car or Taxi a bad thing?
The Government has botched the project from the get go, but that doesn't mean it should be abandoned.

The running times for buses would also be based on the fact that the road infrastructure in certain areas is going though a massive upgrade which commenced last year. Re: NSW Future Rail Plan - NWRL/Metro/Harbour Crossing

From the staff handouts, apparently you will be required to pay when using the Station Link services (as opposed to the current free for all on Rail replacement services), so that would mean any buses used would have to be Opal enabled. Yes they will be Opal equipped buses but the fares will be rai...

Re: NSW Future Rail Plan - NWRL/Metro/Harbour Crossing

The FAQ linked a few posts above actually says approx. 6-7 months, so you can bet they will be gunning for 5 to get it open at the end of Feb, right before the election. Given the current farce and soap opera going on between Constance and ALTRAC with the CSELR project, I'd hope so. Can't afford to...
