Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

Instead of looping around Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and the Bell Tower, I would make the Blue CAT follow a new route: South on William street, East Geoffrey Bolton Av (stopping at a new CAT stop), then North on Barrack Street to resume present route. The stops at Elizabeth Quay Bus Station and Barr...

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2020

Canning Highway services between Fremantle and Canning Bridge seem to have been improved during the peak hours, at the expense of a reduced off-peak service. The latest changes mean that Canning Highway morning peak-hour services are now extremely frequent (17 111/910 departures from Fremantle betwe...

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions

Hi
Does anyone have any details regarding the buses that replaced the Fremantle Line from 1979-83? I.e. route, frequency, numbers, fleet etc.
Cheers

Re: PTA / Transperth Service Changes - 2019

Here's an interesting proposal from out of nowhere... I think the proposed Route 96 is a response to the (failed) trial of extending Route 97 to Leederville Station a while back. The 96 may work better due to its more direct route (straight down Thomas Street instead of the extended 97 winding its ...

Re: Transperth Service Changes - 2018

I think that the changes to the 170/76/77/79 could make the network more logical for people, with the sequential numbers. However, people may get confused with the terminating 178s. I’m not sure about the reductions to the 111, especially in morning peak hours – it is quite busy at that time. The 91...

Re: Closed Fremantle Line Stations

Well that's certainly a thread-busting post! Yes! It does seem like a wasted opportunity that those stations weren't ever properly integrated into the train system. Perhaps in the future that freight line could be used as a corridor for a tram line. Trams might not be as obtrusive as a train ...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2018

1744 was seen on route 114 the other day, and at Fremantle on a 148 this evening.
http://perthbus.info/report.php?vid=TP1744# says it's been decommissioned, but it is definitely still out there carrying passengers around...

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions - 2018

I noticed that older O405NH diesel powered buses have left Transperth fleet. The thing about it was the Transregional buses remaning in the fleet (e.g. TP1155-65, 1166-68, 1173-77, 1203-09, 1231-33 (left TP in 2005), 1300-01,1356-62, 1500-09, 1573-90, 1770-71. Will these Regional buses be replaced ...

Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions - 2018

Hi there. I have a few random questions: What actually happens to a bus when it is refurbished (i.e. what is replaced/fixed/added etc)? All I know is that the bus gets re-painted differently... Will the current fleet of B7RLEs need to be refurbished at some point in the future, and if so when will t...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

The problem with the 531 at the mid-point of the run through Munster is it takes too long to get anywhere (and is evidenced by its patronage figures from last year). You're faced either with the run through the back of Spearwood to access Freo, or the milk run through Beeliar/Success to access Cock...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

Watertown shopping centre is a very busy stop for the Yellow CAT, probably the busiest Yellow CAT stop apart from Perth. I think the shopping centre could do with a TransPerth shuttle service to Elizabeth Quay Bus Station via the freeway because it could reduce congestion on the Yellow CAT and also ...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

The 111s (and other services from Riseley St and Reynolds Rd) do the bulk of the passenger moving during peak. In the AM, there will be passengers waiting at most stops on Canning Hwy for a 111. They won't catch the 910 and will go as far as turning around to make that clear - by Canning Bridge, th...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

I would get rid of the 111 and completely replace it with 910s. The full length of the 910 would run every 5 mins during peak, and every 15 mins during the off-peak and weekends. This would match the train frequency to make transfers at Canning Bridge more convenient. It would also get rid of the sh...
