Re: Small bus companies of the 60's & 70's. Part 2.

My old HCVA Fleet listing of 1975 only shows one Austin in the A.E.Wood fleet at that time, of a total of 5 vehicles in the fleet:
mo 977 Austin FC - Syd Wood - 41 seater - build date 19.9.1957.

Re: Private Bus Observations 2020

I wouldn't get too excited about short notice. Already has a very good service to Echo Point and Scenic World. Just needs the passengers, so will continue just carting fresh mountain air between A and B.

Today marks 100 years since the foundation of Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Service. No doubt there'll be some media coverage and Qantas have put out a short promo clip.

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - 2020

I've also read on an aviation enthusiasts site (not sure if rumour or fact) that their base will be in Sydney and the plan is to demolish the Air Ambulance and Rex hangers at Mascot and build a B737 plus size hanger. Haven't passed there for a while, so image work would have to start soon, if not al...

Rather sad to think of 'old people' living in huge maintenance free units. :-(
Have a read on Wikipedia (unless you've seen the movie) of the plot in 'Soylent Green' which starred Charlton Heston.
It's set in 2022.

Might be if on TV plates or country operator. But as operator of Region 7 Outer Metropolitan does it make a difference ? My understanding Transport NSW takes the bill, unless the operator gets a credit for saving the govt. money. I've read somewhere issues possibly with Iveco Metro meeting certain c...

I notice this new addition is now on their fleet listing as 8273 MO.
They've been a very committed Iveco customer since 2003.
Is there some supply issue with the Iveco Metro beyond this year ?

Blue Mountains postcard.......a small trickle of coaches

After seeing nothing pass through for a very long time, a few coaches are starting to appear with small groups at the tourist spots in Katoomba and Blue Mountains. Here's a selection of a few I've caught over the last few months, and a couple of other shots that may be of interest. 21.jpg 22.jpg 23....

Re: Australian Aviation Thread - 2020

Alliance Airlines has acquired a reasonable number of E190 jets at an opportune time. The first of these, in Alliance livery, is on its way and due to arrive at Brisbane tomorrow at 1700. For those on Facebook (everyone except me I suspect), the Alliance page has more info, images, and a clip of the...

Re: FRESH FOOD.

Same with lollies - a few 'cobbers' , freckles, gummy teeth, musk sticks etc - you'd tell the grocer how much you wanted to spend and they'd fill a brown or white bag for you. Now kids get a weeks supply of lollies in one sealed bag from the sweets aisle and go through them in a day. I picked up one...

Re: Tuck Lee Buses

There is/was a 'Grayson Tuck-Lee' involved with Eggtranz P/L of Mudgee since about '97. Sold off school runs and the Co now runs two TV registered coaches based in Mudgee. I could never work out if that was the same family connection. Likewise 'androconium' growing up in Blacktown (Palmers territory...

A few more planes parked at Alice Springs the past couple of weeks, most notably from Hong Kong Express (a320s, a321’s) and a few Cathay Pacific planes (a333, 773) Today Cathay Pacific sent 2 77W planes to Alice Springs boneyard. If I’m correct one of them was at least 6 years old. I don't think th...

I haven't seen a photo from any time, let alone 20 years ago, on the Victorian Photos page for a very long time. Despite being promoted on the BCSV site, I think most of our Victorian friends abandoned sharing their collections on here a long time ago. Facebook seems to be the go, which is a pity.

There was only the one as a touring coach - Bustech CDi of Australia Wide Coaches Alexandria ( ex TV 7730) operating in Gray Line livery. It mainly worked the daily Blue Mountains tour from Sydney back in "the good old days".
