Re: How To Deal With Tailgaters?

Sometimes if your feeling a bit devious (Not that I recommend it) give them a quick brake check as a way to show them you know what they're up to and that your watching. Majority of them should "hopefully" wake up to themselves and back off given that should they risk rear ending you, it's...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

On the topic of vehicles and all things automotive, my work-shifts keep getting changed around like clockwork so I've been leaving early in the morning to go to work & where most days are starting off with dense fog it's incredible how many cars I see driving without headlights on in the fog. Fi...

Re: Rail Observations 2024

They have already had one refurbishment, there is little they are lacking compared to any other NSW trains. Doesn't mean it can't happen again. For instance they definitely need to work on overhauling the onboard DVA as most of the audio units onboard the regional J-sets sound very faint and even w...

Re: What gives you the S&#T's!?

Didn't we learn the first time that a bunch of Aussie knuckle-heads trying to rip-off the most-famous iteration of this show (with Clarkson, Hammond & May) was a complete basket case, like most Australian rip-offs of successful foreign TV series? If you have to ask, the answer is always no / no...

ah not 1555, one of my favorites :(

Anyway, mystery of whereabouts of 7727 MO (One of the Custom "550's" can be put to rest, it's sitting stored at the back of Thornton CDC Depot, likely already deregistered and a parts source for remaining O405's in the fleet.

Transferred to regional CDC NSW Volvo B10BLE CB60 m/o 1094 out on revenue run 140 to Newcastle Intg currently, some may say not really worthy of an observation although very rare to see an 23 year old bus in the CDC regional operations doing revenue runs.

Hopefully not too late to add some more predictions Transport again (Can't get enough of these) 2026 - 2030 It's announced the two Newcastle ferries (Hunter & Shortland) will be retired (by 2030 they will be around the 40 years of age mark). Tenders are then opened by TNSW to sought replacements...

Re: CDC NSW Fleet Updates

Drove past the Edgeworth Graveyard on the weekend, noted off the top of my head there's two of those older Mercedes with the so called "Volgren NZ" bodywork (3575 and 3576 MO), also whatever was remaining left of the Volvo B6LE's from Thornton. I also saw a Scania K230UB (noted as a K230UB...

Re: Bus Observations 2024.

I believe that has changed with the new tranche of contracts being offered - most operators are now forced to use the so-called 'electric bus' seat moquette on their new vehicles, even if they are not electric (e.g. Transit Systems' 3 Volvo B8L Gemilang Eco vehicles and KDNB's 3 new MAN ND323F Gemi...

Re: Newcastle light rail, renewal & integrated transport

It all boils down to TfNSW's longstanding poor capability for procuring the best vehicles/vessels/designs/suppliers for the job. sadly of which was done and precured under the previous government. I really don't think members of the public are all too keen to see this finger pointing, Instead they ...

Doesn't really help either that Ebusco outside of certain European markets isn't really a well known brandname and would take a lot to build up a reputation here and compete with Scania & Volvo. After the 2022 Bus & Coach Expo it seemed everything in terms of development for them here really...

My guess is this is either BCI or Yutong although I suspect It in the long run it will appear to be Yutongs we'll be seeing as Transit Systems already operates them, although as an electric variant as part of their ZEB fleet. on top of that, It does make perfect sense to order from an brand one woul...

Re: Rail Observations 2024
