Just for anyone looking, the confirmed correct gaps are 0.4mm Inlet, 0.7mm Exhaust.

I figured it out but forgot to update this post. For lurkers in the future, the tacho sender polarity is critical, wire on the wrong side gets you nothing.
I dont suppose that manual is in electronic form??

Get it up to hot temperature and laser check the inlet and outlet temperatures of the radiator.
That will tell you if the radiator and fan are working OK, leave you with less options
