Re: WA Transport General Discussion & Questions

Looks like the area in front of Melville SHS. Nope, it's stop #10863 Leach Hwy Before Winthrop Drive. There were reports in the media tonight that there has been safety concerns raised about the placement/location of this particular bus stop, whether these concerns are legitimate or have any substa...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021

So 32** B8s will be at Gosnells next? Or will the remaining 29** ones enter service at Palmyra first replacing the 12** OCs? So in relation to the OC Gassies: 1234-1258 were built in 2004 1259-1299, 1855-1873, 1900-1917 and 100-106 were all built in 2005 therefore one would assume those batches wou...

Re: Next generation railcars for Transperth

I note a small error, Warnbro Station is also a Bus Transfer station but this not indicated correctly on the model train line maps.

Is the Joondalup line eventually going to be renamed once it reaches Yanchep or will it always be known by it's traditional name ?

Re: Elizabeth Quay bus station redevelopment lots 1334 & 1335 Mounts Bay road

There was talk for a while in regards to EQBS getting Dynamic Stand Allocation and having the platforms sealed off from the roadways, with automatic doors at each stand (similar to PUB). I wonder if that will happen with these modifications This has crossed my mind as well given the numerous instan...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2021

Over the course of years 2015/16 the OC's of 1439, 2016 - 2022 were all moved from Karrinyup to Southern River, since then 2016 - 2022 have found their way back to Karrinyup. There has been instances of them bouncing between the two depots (mainly 2016), a review of this forum's observation threads ...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

You'd be right, though there's only 30 NHs left so you could say they're pretty much all due for retirement soon. Does this include those out in the bush? I think there are about 10 in the Goldfields and several more scattered over the south coast. There's approximately 90 odd NH's still in service...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

If 31xx is being reserved for future new artics (and great to hear there is potentially another 30 new artics on the cards) then yeah 32xx would be the logical next fleet range for Swan. I couldn't see the PTA recycling old fleet numbers for new deliveries, the ex Perth CAT's was a unique scenario w...

Re: Bus Routes - What would you do if you were in charge?

My idea is only a small one but heck it would improve the 565 Stockland Baldivis deviation immensely. The current deviation (red route on picture) is heavily congested south bound on Settlers Ave, the bus drivers always struggle to find an opening to turn right onto Settlers Ave from Atwick Tce and ...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

We haven't had any major bus fire in the last few years, which is a rather good sign. If 0109 is written off, it would be Path Transit's fourth OC500LE (and fifth vehicle) to be destroyed by fire. Surprisingly, Path hasn't been known to lose any vehicles to accidents. Swan Transit had 1313, 1564 an...

If there was excess buses in Joondalup they could have simply moved them to Shenton Park and withdraw more NH's from there.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

When the Marmion & Joondalup contracts went out for tender last year the bus list on the Marmion tender indicated that OC's 2013-2016 and 1435-1439 were to return to Karrinyup (2017-2020 were already back at the time) and subsequently a large number of random B7 movements to occur among all Swan Dep...

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2019

With the aircon intake it's just a different type of filter that's been placed inside, some of Rockingham's B7's and OC's have had the same filter type installed over the last 6 months and Karrinyup started installing them in their OC's about 12 months ago.

Re: 1GRL423: The Only B8RLE Orange School Bus

Seating capacity looks fairly lacking, perimeter flip up seats would have been a good idea for the front half of the bus. Why so? It's clearly been built for special needs kids. 21 seats plus four dedicated wheelchair bays is plenty enough Ahh fair enough i thought it was just another run of the mi...
