Re: Opal Discussion and Observations
I wonder do contact tracers have access to Opal Card checking so that they can understand what time patients went on a particular train/bus whilst infectous? I noticed last week one of the cases was stated to travel from Roseville to Redfern in about 40 minutes - I'm guessing this was based on Opal...

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
I'm surprised Pitt Street is not included as it's the one station name that I would have thought needs a review. Perhaps this means they are planning something else for it though?
Bradfield Station anyone?

There's still no guarantee that Stage 2 will actually happen any time soon - things have stalled as far as I can tell.

Re: Timetable and Route Changes, 23/8/2020
I missed these changes in August - I'm surprised they didn't merge N91 and N92 rather than create a new route.

Re: Northconnex
Yes, agreed trucks are the focus which is why it's strange that buses get mentioned at all in the signs below, for example, that are about to start popping up on all approaches. I wouldn't have thought buses are much of an issue at all.

Re: Northconnex
Thanks for that!
A lot of the signage and promotional material mentions that the tunnel will be taking trucks and buses off Pennant Hills Road but are any public bus routes actually going to use the tunnel? Could a 600X route be worthwhile between Hornsby, Carlingford and Parramatta?

Re: Other rail possibilties
Maybe they don't want to risk the NIMBYs but Frenchs Forest seems like a huge missed opportunity in the plan - it's an area that could do with better transport options and more density in the next 30 years.

Re: WS Airport Metro
The 801 that will run between the airport and Liverpool when it opens would need a major frequency upgrade from the 7 services a day 4 east bound and 3 west bound that it currently does Will be interesting to see the balance between public and private buses. I would imagine a Skybus type service wo...

Would be interesting to know in the circumstances and with Federal money incoming whether Gladys tried to push for an immediate extension either to Tallawong or Macarthur rather than only the middle section.

Re: STA Observations 2020
One thing they might need to address if frequency is increased on the 533 is that right hand turn from Pacific Highway to Mowbray Road (no right turn, buses excepted) since it would mean relatively more traffic getting blocked by a bus turning right there, given there are no green arrows for that t...

Re: NSW Railway Observations 2020
It seems a little pointless having Opal gates (as opposed to readers) at the Metro stations when, due to there being no staff, they need to leave one gate permanently open just in case there is a special event with integrated ticketing or another access requirement.

Re: Light rail gets the green light: stage 1 UNSW to CBD
I gave it a go this afternoon from City to Randwick and return at about 4.15pm. Despite an approx. 15-20 minute gap from the previous Randwick service it was fairly quiet and busiest in the CBD section. Big Bash on Wednesday night will be an interesting test. The TNSW event page says that there will...

In an ideal world I'd like T7 extended under Lidcombe and connected to the Bankstown line to make use of some of the disconnected parts of the line after the metro conversion.

Re: Parramatta light rail
Do we think there will be any farewell events for the line (F1 runs or something) - or kept low-key? I'd certainly like to head out and travel the line while I can considering I never have before.
