Re: leyland tiger 88 model semi auto detect that it is in pa
Depends on the selector, but if its the type on the side of the column, theres micro switches in the back of the control to sense which gear its in. I think theres a neatural switch from memory2pawright wrote:leyland tiger 88 model semi auto how does it detect that it is in park?

Re: Bus mechanic needed for bus purchase
Your far better off with a Toyota Coaster for reliability. The older coasters had a 1HZ engine in them, they go for ever and put up with a lot of abuse. Bit lacking in power compared to newer models, and youll be lucky to find a low km one these days. Still, a coaster is the go. Rosas tend to squat ...

Re: leyland 680 not driven 10 yrs what to do?
If the correct air pressure isnt supplied to the trans, it will cause the trans to slip as it uses air pressure to hold the bands onto the drum. As for the brakes, at 5 bar, the brake boosters may not be releasing and dragging a touch, hence your "braking affect". Does the bus "blow off" its air whe...

Re: Denning electric gear selector
We have had this problem with 1 of our deckers. Ended up being the brake pedal switch for the transmission not switching, so pretty much the computer for the trans isnt sensing that you have your foot in the brake, so it wont select a gear. As for the crank light, this comes directly off the starter...

Re: Oil Drain Periods
We do our maitenance in house. Older larger engine oils are changed at 10,000km and new vehicles are changed every 15,000km (manufacturer specs 30,000km) with filters. Our school buses cover 1,000km average a week with coaches covering upwards of 5,000km. Buses and coaches do still have dipsticks, b...

Another thing to keep in mind is that if you change the water, dont just put coolant back in. These engines dont react well to the glycol in coolant, you need to run a special corrosion inhibitor in them, or they will do the seals in the head gaskets and water pump.

Depends on what gearbox is in her. If you can email me some info, i may be able to help. We have had some and i have done a fair bit of work in the gearbox department. What changer is in it also, could be an issue with the selector. My email is michael@langleyscoaches.com.au
