Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

Operational requirements sometimes mean that buses assigned to special running have to be used elsewhere. A prime example of this, is its not uncommon to see a Dolphin on normal road running. Saw Dolphin 3 on a 549 a few Saturdays ago. Another good one was 731 running 10's one morning in Joondalup. ...

[quote="Enviro 500" 2096 and 2097 (12m) were sent to replace 1597 and 1598 wholesale. They could have replaced the written-off vehicles with other Midis but didn't. [/quote] 2096 and 2097 were transferred to SR, more than likely due to their age and the fact that they are not due for withdrawal any ...

Re: TerritoryTransit Scania Artics

Can the artics not be timetabled to leave the city on trips where no other buses are departing at the same time, (ie: so that they have the stop to themselves and therefore aren't blocking the Woolies entrance?

TP0100 operated Route 034T this morning. I believed that the bus has transferred from Malaga to WP 3 weeks ago. 0100-0103 have been at Welshpool for some time now, covering for refurbs as has been mentioned. 102 paid a visit to Malaga recently, but has since returned to WP. 100 did not return to Ma...

1597 visible from Corfield street, the entire front end has caved in looks to be quite extensive structural chassis damage my guess without speculating is it was accidentally reversed into Both were on road apparently. Not sure on what the state of 1598 is, but I believe they somehow ended up being...

Also, note this one doesn't have those wheel nut covers fitted on the front wheels. Wonder if that's a thing they're doing now or if they'll be fitted at a later date?
Said things are known as "Dress Rims". Probably be fitted before it gets delivered.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

I stand corrected. Did both accidents happen during the same period as both vehicles were written off on the same day? Also, at the back of Malaga Depot visible from Victoria Road is a vehicle covered in a tarpaulin. Could that be the remains of 0109? Sorry, probably should clarify, they were both ...

Re: MAN SL200 D2556 MXU 192 engine shut down

MAN and Merc diesel engines (and some of the others too) use an air powered shut down control. If air pressure isn't close to 8bar, sometimes they take a while to cut the fuel off enough to stall the engine.

Did 1597 and 1598 hit each other by any chance? Both of them getting written off together leaves Swan with just 4 OC Midis now (1594-6, 1599).
The answer to that is in my post above (ie not responsible for the accident).

1599 is an LWB by the way

Bus Suggestions wrote: Sat Aug 15, 2020 4:59 pm What accident were 1597 and 1598 involved in? I don't recall any coverage of it.
Not all accidents are covered by the media etc. 1597 is parked on the back fence at SR, next to 1593, with its front end caved in. 1598 is elsewhere off site. I understand however, that the 2 buses were not at fault.

Word on the street is that SR may be down a couple of buses, hence 2448 also being there. Could explain 2096 and 2097.

821 (3816) seen in Baldivis today, on it's way back to Busso after going in for Refurb. My sources tell me 809 (040) will be up shortly, for the same reason.

Re: PTA / Transperth & Private Observations - 2020

There is at least another 30 artics on order or soon to be ordered, I understand, which will use the 3103-3199 block. I assume Transdev and PATH will get the 3300 and 3400 blocks. Still puzzles me as to why they don't just go back to 150 or 200 and just start from there but anyway, what do I know, I...

1363 & 1364 spent some time at SR, as well as 1435-1439 getting moved around here and there, so that will explain them on 20x routes. 365's, 372's and 375's were generally done by the Marmion/Joondalup depots, but early in the peace,355's & 376-379 services were covered to some extent by Malaga. 370...

Same could be said about your car... When the fleet covers over 100 million km per year, occasionally s**t happens. And mechanical faults can arise with absolutely no prior or visible warnings. So, you know, pipe down until a thorough investigation has occurred. Cheers! Don’t really know what that ...
