Re: Inner West Light Rail observations
A few years ago, the buses followed the tram line, starting at the Colonnade, down the ramp and along Hay St to Darling Drive. I believe there’s significant work being done to the colonnade anpproaches itself. I’ve recently seen the bridge over Eddy Ave completely covered in hoardings for maintenan...

Re: Sydney Metro West announced
Oh I have zero expectation of those being added due to the approved alignment, however the fact that they weren’t included initially is a lost opportunity. That 10 minute detour to Parramatta could be the difference between someone using the line or not at all. It’s a poor outcome compared to what a...

Re: Sydney Metro West announced
Leichhardt North having the light rail there is precisely why it should have been a stop. An interchange there would have been a boon for the IWLR with people using it as a feeder to reach the city faster, as well as make connections to Parramatta much quicker for them and those on the Bankstown lin...

Ah, I see.
Perhaps next time someone asks a simple question the admin should avoid the passive aggressive snark, especially when they didn’t actually “spell it out”.

Where are these numbers meant to be found? The only numbers next a thread’s title is the views and replies tally, as well as the date and time. There’s no number to be seen even in this thread right now.

Good video of the 611 here from the same channel: https://youtu.be/hacXgr-qfQM I doubt there’s a chance for any busway or bus lane extensions on eastern portions of the M2, but I’d like to see a proper western extension of the median busway in the future. There’s room to extend it under Windsor Rd a...

Re: Sydney’s public transport growing back differently post-pandemic
I wonder. If we had done a short and sharp lockdown for a few days a week ago like a typical Labor state response, would we be needing to endure a fortnight in lockdown like we need to now? Unclear, but interesting to ponder. Whatever the individual states decide to do is besides the point when the ...

Re: Sydney Metro - Tallawong to Bankstown
The area surrounding Barclay Rd and Oakes Rd M2 stops have always seen large numbers of parked cars around them. Why there isn’t better bus connectivity to/from/past these stations and linking key surrounding centres/interchanges is definitely something I feel should be addressed, even with the met...

Re: NSW rail network to go green by 2025, smaller ferries to go electric
The only way electric vehicles will cease to be seen as luxury vehicles is once we get a critical mass of demand in this country for EV’s to entice manufacturers to sell their lower end models here. These incentives are a good thing for increasing the uptake of EV’s, and this has been proven worldwi...

Re: Opal Discussion and Observations
The off-peak window was shortened to reflect that the peak periods had evolved to extend beyond the traditional 7-9am and 4-6pm windows. If this were truly the reason for the change then they would have extended service frequency to peak levels over that extended peak period, yet they haven’t. This...

Re: New bus network arising from CSELR (L2/L3) opening
I do wish they'd make the interchanges easier on the bus network. Changing from buses at Taylor Square towards Randwick is going to be a right pain in the arse. Same goes for Bunnerong Road services heading citybound with at least two crossings required. The Bunnerong Road example, I brought up in ...

They’ve tried to implement exit numbers into the wayfinding system but IMO the same exit number applies to way too many actual exit points.

That would mean it would be on a bridge, which is a bit of a wind tunnel with no natural protection, unlike the existing stops that are under shop awnings. Would also be between two intersections with lights that are only 100 metres metres apart. Although it is currently closed while an apartment b...

Re: Parramatta light rail
The West Metro at Olympic Park is what makes this light rail line necessary, especially with the service gap between SOP and Parramatta. Wentworth Point will be the densest suburb in the country, and it needs more than buses and a slow ferry to serve it and transport people to the metro. Melrose Par...

Well that sort of puts a damper on the “locally-built = quality” argument doesn’t it? What will the headlines be if the Emerald Series 2 don’t rust in 5 years but the Series 1 are stuck looking shoddy? Not the we shouldn’t be building locally, but it’s still silly to see it used to win political poi...

^^ Tonyp , have you got a map that shows that? But what about the platform that is needed for the other side as it will be in the way of part of the bus interchange and maybe part of the bus interchange entry/exit? Here is the unused track marked in red. It goes under those fences. http://i.imgur.c...
