Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

Kinetic's electrics in Melbourne are BYD's as well, as are Transit Systems/Sita.

Re: NSW Bus Industry Taskforce announced

I don't know why all-door boarding still is a contentious topic for Sydney. It shouldn't be rejected. I use the centre door to get on buses in Melbourne all the time now. Bus drivers in Melbourne like it as well as it cuts down on dwell time especially at busy stops even with the 1.5 door set up com...

Looks like the Custom Denning Element 2 is already a little out of date without 3 doors.

Re: New Sydney and Outer Metro bus contracts (as from 2020)

The Sydney bus pay is really quite low, Kinetic in Melbourne (private operator although PTV contracted) now pays $36.80 per hour for permanent full-time and you can get that rate as soon as you're signed off for solo driving (which only takes a couple of weeks at most), meanwhile even the old STA pa...

Re: New bus contracts to drive improved services (as from 2020)

The conversion to the TfNSW livery has been very slow when you consider that Victoria started their standard livery long after NSW but all their busses appear to have been converted. Even the STA started repainting their buses into the TfNSW livery and then reverted to their own livery. So a mixtur...

Honestly, it's quite disappointing as always to see Parramatta - Macquarie Park/Epping line left out. Seriously.

Re: NSW Electric Bus Plan

The 601 service in Melbourne now has the Volvo BZL running every weekday. No rear door but it is low-floor with a double-leaf centre door (not low-entry) and it does do all-door boarding (actually every route and every bus stop is now all-door boarding in Melbourne now, drivers will open the centre ...

Seems like the timetabled travel times are also back down to 31 minutes. It was 31 minutes during the 2021 lockdown but then went back up to 33 minutes after it. Now it's back again.

Re: WS Airport Metro

The Aerotropolis is being designed for 6 platforms, no?

But sending the Metro all the way to Glenfield, not really sold on that yet. Leppington, the most logical place for the Metro to finish for the moment instead of nowhere.

Re: New bus contracts to drive improved services (as from 2020)

Similar situation, did a 292 to Marsfield, no one ever got on after Macquarie Uni in the years I had done it, but in this situation, I did the trip but this girl I noticed sitting at a stop on Epping Rd didn't signal me and I presumed as usual, an Epping passenger. After finishing and running speci...

Re: QR information codes

They've been around for a few years at some stops (saw them as far back as 2016 maybe 2017) but haven't really been used by the public I guess. Don't think anyone knew what they were back then. I blew the minds of a few people by scanning it at busy bus stops back then. I can imagine people now know...

Re: New bus contracts to drive improved services (as from 2020)

I will say, I recently heard who was going to be the likely winner for Region 9 too and all I can say is that while I think they made good choices for the other STA regions, I am really scratching my head and wondering how the hell they won on this one if confirmed. Though I can also see why they we...
