Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2021
You forgot about 2880, 2881, 2882, and 2883 (the Queensland University of technology shuttles), which are at Eagle Farm depot.

That will make either 5 of 6 MAN 19.320 chassis with Volgren Optimus bodywork and fitted with seat belts for regional work.

The Bustech VST still has a high floor so unless they change the floor layout they will have a schrinking market.

Re: M65, M71, M80 starting before 2011 ends? (NSW ALP announce)
I am wondering what will happen to the T80 now that the rest of the transitway routes have been dissolved back to 3 digits. 830 is the nearest spare route number that does not double up with another service. The rest of the metrobus routes are easily dissolved back to 3 digits. m52 becomes 520X m90 ...

The B Line is just a double decker bus posing as a railway line. I see no reason to expand that to other parts of Greater Sydney.

Why build a second bus when you can reuse the first one? Pretty lazy.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
If a new B8 was involved in a crash and it was completely smashed up then they would repair it even rebody it, but if an old MAN was involved in minor collison and it required say a minor refront then it would likely be withdrawn. I doubt it. If a vehicle is damaged beyond repair, then it will not ...

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Considering the last gas bus was delivered at the end of 2009 (fleet number 1523) that is a solid 18 years of service by the time it is withdrawn.
The 2027 target makes sense from the perspective of withdrawing the gas buses after about 15 years of service.

Nothing to do with the age of the vehicle but rather the extent of the damage.

Do you know that? Whilst it finishes the original order.
I see no reason why Kinetic will go back to back to purchasing Bustech XDi when MAN 19.320 are their preferred chassis.

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Hornibrook Transit Management and South West Transit use diesel buses, not gas. The diesel MAN 18.310 rigids at Toowong depot are hitting 12 years old and are used all day, 7 days per week. The gas MAN 18.310s rigids from Toowong depot are rarely used outside of peak periods. As of 2.45pm today ther...

Re: Transport for Brisbane Observations 2020
Logically yes Garden City would be next as the older gas buses are withdrawn from service to avoid doing major refurbishments. When the gas buses were ordered circa-2000 gas was considerable cleaner and cheaper than diesel. Gas buses are now a lot more expensive to run compared to diesel as stated h...

Re: Surfside Buslines
Tweed Heads is a regional area. Thew new buses with seatbelts have obviously been delivered to be capable of doing school and route services. Running separate fleets is duplication and running coaches does not satisfy low entry requirements.

Off The Rails was on the money. Looks like QOCS preserved vehicles 185, 498, 722 and 827. The fleet number for 185 is visible on the roof. The other vehicles are identifiable by the position of the roof hatches and the distinctive tapered rear end. This is purely from aerial photography and looking ...
