From the SMH (yeah I have a login - guessing that's the paywall in question):
Bolded the bits referring to the bus rerouting.
Buses set to be re-routed through Rozelle interchange to reduce traffic jam

Re-routing some buses through the Rozelle interchange to reduce traffic snarls on Victoria Road in Sydney’s inner west is under serious consideration as emergency work begins to create extra lane space on the City West Link in the run-up to the Anzac Bridge.

The addition of a 400-metre-long second lane on the City West Link is expected to improve city-bound traffic flows, but it means motorists using the new Crescent overpass from Annandale will potentially face a longer commute as they merge with vehicles using the extended lane.

Transport authorities are also looking at lane changes for city-bound traffic on the Victoria Road on-ramp to the Anzac Bridge, where the queuing is at its worst.

Roads Minister John Graham said prioritising two lanes for the City West Link would impact motorists using what was now a clear city-bound lane from the Crescent overpass.

“Any of the changes will impact on other road users approaching the same interchange. But we believe that it will result in a better outcome overall,” he said.

The opening of the $3.9 billion interchange more than a week ago has caused chronic congestion on both the City West Link and Victoria Road, leading to delays of up to an hour on the latter.

The traffic jams also led to major delays for bus services along Victoria Road last week, which experts have warned risks causing a bigger problem if commuters ditch public transport for cars.

Transport for NSW secretary Josh Murray said the agency was examining a re-routing of the 500X bus service through the 1.1-kilometre Iron Cove Link, which is a toll-free part of the interchange and bypasses a stretch of Victoria Road.

“We’re assessing that at the moment. The first three days of this week we will be looking at bus priority and bus performance on Victoria Road,” he said.

Construction workers will add the second lane to a 400-metre stretch of the City West Link where it merges with the Crescent overpass in the approach to the Anzac Bridge. The construction work will happen at night and is expected to take until the end of next weekend.

Murray said the changes to City West Link were aimed at giving motorists more space and clarity as they merged into other traffic on the Anzac Bridge “so that we move those pinch points and stretch them out”.

However, he warned that the lane changes were “not going to solve the overall challenge, which is that the Anzac Bridge only has four lanes to the city”.

“They won’t fix everything, but they will give us some breathing space to plan the next part of any changes,” he said.

While there was queuing on the City West Link and Victoria Road on Monday morning, Murray said traffic volumes were more like a normal December.

However, he said authorities would keep a close eye on them as pressure builds on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, which are typically the busiest weekdays.

Murray said the improvements in traffic flow on the City West Link and Victoria Road since “last week’s traffic jams” were due to changed driver behaviour and the agency using technology to manage the roadways.

Before the Rozelle interchange opened late last month, seven lanes merged into four on the Anzac Bridge. Now, 10 lanes are merged into four with the extra lanes from the spaghetti junction.
"It's my way or the (side of the) highway".
Might be a way to lead life, but more like the way that some people drive.

Thank you - very interesting. Wonder why this wasn't on the table from the start. Epping Road services used the Gore Hill freeway from day one.

I must admit I'm not familiar with the design or reasoning of the Rozelle interchange.

However this one paragraph in the SMH summarised it for me:
Before the Rozelle interchange opened late last month, seven lanes merged into four on the Anzac Bridge. Now, 10 lanes are merged into four with the extra lanes from the spaghetti junction.

And we wonder why there are problems?

Agree routes like 438X, 442 and 433 look like service increases beyond reallocation.
However 389, 440 and 470 will be seeing cuts to peak services. Overall net trips will be flat or lower on those routes.

Morning citybound services (5-10am*):
  • 389: 29 -> 27 services (westbound)
  • 440: 34 -> 29 services (eastbound)
  • 470: 42 -> 34 services
Evening outbound services (4-7pm*):
  • 389: 23 -> 19 services (eastbound)
  • 440: 20 -> 18 services (westbound)
  • 470: 28 -> 20 services
* at Railway Square or Town Hall

Overall net trips:
389: +1 eastbound, -1 westbound per weekday
440: -6 westbound, -6 eastbound per weekday
470: -4 citybound, -3 outbound per weekday

The new Region 1 contract is commencing soon and there is a minor rename from ‘Busways Western Sydney’ to ‘Busways R1’. There were changes to timetables for regular routes and school routes on 20/11/2023, these timetables have been republished with the updated minor operator name change and dated as 10/12/2023.

Changes at Museum Station now confirmed - https://transportnsw.info/alerts/details#/ems-24951

Stand A on Liverpool St permanently closes. 311 & 440 now via Wentworth Ave on the eastbound, others moved to a new Stand B on Elizabeth St (separate to the existing Stand B on Elizabeth St!).

Median strip is in the process of being removed on Liverpool Street, presumably the lane used be eastbound buses is being turned over to general traffic.
