Train Drivers Threaten To Strike Over Pay Dispute
Perth's transport system could be left bottoms-up if workers walk off the job in the coming days.
The Rail, Tram, and Bus Union will this week survey the number of workers willing to strike against the ongoing public sector pay dispute set to take Parliament on August 17.
The Union is demanding a pay increase of 5%, however, the McGowan government is refusing to improve its offer of 2.75%.
It is believed more than 30 public workers have quit Transperth since the start of the year as the state continues to battle ongoing worker shortages.

Re: Transperth Trains Industrial Action
The State is running at huge surplus. Essential services, particularly the health system, are under immense pressure with little to no additional funding in sight. Workers are overworked as their colleagues hit the road in search of greener pastures (FIFO being a particularly topical issue for the bus and train system). In spite of all that, a fairly ho-hum pay offer.
It would hardly surprise me if there was a strike. This will be just the tip of the iceberg, I suspect.

McGrub won't offer a cent he doesn't have to... It's an uphill battle for workers to get anything at the moment
If it's not a ZF, take it back!

They did offer 3% which is a step in the right direction although 4% would have been idealBus-1809 wrote:McGrub won't offer a cent he doesn't have to... It's an uphill battle for workers to get anything at the moment
