From 10 Dec 2023, "Busways R1" will take over bus routes currently operated by "Busways Western Sydney".

Despite such a small name change there are pre 10/12 timetables with code 20 and post 10/12/timetables with code 11 now available on Transport Info.
And yet for region 4 where the operator name changed from Hillsbus to CDC NSW this has never been done and the operator name is still shown as Hillbus in the timetables.

Yet in the https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/data-a ... cket_saves on times running the name was changed to CDC NSW in April this year.
And while looking at that U-GO Mobility region 10 has improved from 90.8% in September to 92.3% in October which is still the worst performaning region at that time but only just beaten by the new region 2 with TSA with 92.5%

Those on time numbers for region 2 are not to good but TSA are doing a alright job the on time running is up and down even tho they have to deal with the Hume Highway in the peaks whitch is heavy though LiverpoolFleet Lists wrote: ↑Thu Nov 30, 2023 2:02 pm Yet in the https://www.transport.nsw.gov.au/data-a ... cket_saves on times running the name was changed to CDC NSW in April this year.

Region 2 is not unique in having to deal with heavy traffic. Given that Transit Systems is operating the same timetables as its predecessors, congestion would be factored in. Expect Busways region 7 punctuality to tank thanks to the gridlocking being caused by the badly thought out West Connex project that partially opened this week.

Re: New Sydney and Outer Metro bus contracts
Most of the former Busabout routes have been running on tweaked versions of the 2013 timetable since around a year before Busways handed region 15 over to Busabout the only Busways era timetable to get a major update in that area is the 887 which got a frequency upgrade 5 or 6 years ago from hourly in peaks and every 2 or 3 hours off peak and weekends to 60 minute frequency on weekdays which is easier when it comes to UOW students that like the option to catch public transport from Campbelltown and surrounds and the 887 does stop at the uni of Wollongong on the way down to Wollongong and on the trip up to CampbelltownLinto63 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 01, 2023 7:20 am Region 2 is not unique in having to deal with heavy traffic. While responding to another thread, I noticed an inconsistency with Maianbar Bundeena Bus Service vs. U-Go Mobility.
The Maianbar website timetable has a note at the bottom, "(R) - No services operated through Sutherland as of July 2023" which is placed against the 10:00 trip time at Sutherland. https://www.maianbarbundeenabus.com/tim ... w-989.html
The Maianbar PDF timetable - which is from November 2008 - appears to show Sutherland as normal. https://www.maianbarbundeenabus.com/Bun ... etable.pdf
The U-Go Mobility network map shows the 989 via Sutherland. https://3kefcf.p3cdn1.secureserver.net/ ... _A1_v2.pdf
TfNSW still appears to show it via Sutherland - https://transportnsw.info/routes/detail ... /989/31989 and https://transportnsw.info/documents/tim ... 240108.pdf (and I'm not evening going to start comparing this to the November 2008 PDF to see if there are any other differences!).
So, I wonder what the "July 2023" note on the Maianbar website is referencing? Maybe the 989 did change under U-Go's supervision, but the data wasn't updated where it needed to be?

I would admit I was the one of the first to not give U-Go a chance but with 91 services added back in, it’s a step in the right direction. Still not happy with M92 being split up it is what it is.Bus passengers in Sydney's south will have the chance to speak with the NSW Government on what they want from their bus services on Saturday, February 10.
As part of the NSW Government's Bus Industry Taskforce the pop-up stall will provide an opportunity for bus passengers to have their feedback captured by Taskforce members and Transport for NSW planners.
The Bus Industry Taskforce was formed to make recommendations to improve the reliability, quality and effectiveness of bus services across NSW.
Passengers can discuss bus services, frequency, reliability, routes, bus stop set ups and accessibility and feedback received will be used by the Taskforce and the Minister for Transport to inform further considerations and decisions on how to improve bus services in NSW.
The community is encouraged to register for the pop-up session.
Hurstville Bus Passenger pop-up details:
. Where: Hurstville Plaza, 296 Forest Rd, Hurstville NSW 2220
. When: Saturday 10 February 10am-12pm
For those unable to attend in person, feedback can be submitted by visiting

Region 10 bus operator update
On Monday, January 29, 2024, Region 10 bus operator U-Go Mobility added a further 91 trips back into the timetable in a boost for regular route services catering for Sydney's South and South West communities.
It is expected that a return to full timetable will be in place in the first half of 2024.
The operator has a continued focus on recruitment to address the driver shortage, which still impacts NSW.
The includes a dedicated Women Behind the Wheel program which supports women to train to become bus drivers by paying for their licence upgrade.
NSW Premier and Member for Kogarah Chris Minns said the Region 10 bus route privatisation caused significant problems for the community.
"The Transport Minister and I have worked closely with the Bus Taskforce and the operator to find solutions, but there's still work to do," he said.
"I know many have views on how we can best improve our bus services, so I encourage everyone to pop by the Bus Taskforce's pop-up.
Transport Minister Jo Haylen said, "We are seeing some real improvements to bus services across Region 10 as we move towards restoring the full timetable.
"The Bus Taskforce has been travelling across the state and listening to passengers to ensure we can deliver a better service for all."

Yes, from 31 March.
Apparently it is temporary due to shortage of staff in R14.
