Blue Mountains postcard - Spring 2019

Postby Centralian » Sun Sep 29, 2019 9:12 pm

I've captured quite a few bus sightings that interested me over the last month or so in the Blue Mountains.
Not sure if it's more activity with school excursions and tours or whether I've just been out more with my camera. Hope you enjoy this selection.

I'll start off with a new one vehicle operator that launched on 6 September - Botanica Touring P/L. ACC: 43174. Katoomba.
They operate a shuttle service Thursday to Monday between Katoomba and Richmond along Bells Line of Road.
Coach departs Katoomba at 9.30 am and 1.50pm and from Richmond return at 11.40am and 4.10pm. More details on their Facebook page or website.

Still carrying WA rego 1GBX843 as a clue to its mining transport origins, Botanica Touring Yutong 57 seater coach.
Service launched on 6 September and the vehicle now carries rego TV 8248.

Was surprised to see this former Sydney Buses Mercedes with a load of school kids visiting Echo Point. The fleet number still retained helped identify the vehicle.

Former Sydney Buses 3159 M-Benz 0405 Mk.5 now with Ping Zhang T/A Aussie Shuttle Party of Prospect.
Now reg'd CE41CV.

Another surprise on the same day was finally catching up with this Denning Landseer of A.L.Tours Luddenham which had eluded me for ages.
Then I spotted the number plate - TV 032A ??. I'm confused - is this a new TV plate series or another version of a personalised plate. The driver wasn't around to ask.

I only recently noticed that this Coaster was with a Blue Mountains accredited operator. Note the 'road kill' hanging off the nearside mirror :)

A very well presented former VIVO mining bus from the Northern Territory:

703.jpg
1600 MO Mercedes Benz OH1830L with Volgren Endura body of 2014 build, now with Big Bus Co.
The vehicle has been re-seated with belted 3 abreast student coach seating and certainly impressed.

Some more former VIVO Mercedes Volgren buses have appeared at Compass Tours Werrington:

704.jpg
Still in its mining bus VIVO guise is 8993 MO, a Mercedes Benz OH1830 with Volgren body of about 2013 build accredited to Chalker P/L.
Similar unit is 8994 MO, while a third unit was still unregistered when I visited.

Two former Kingsgrove / Casula MAN's have appeared with a party bus / shuttle operator in St.Mary's:

717.jpg
Former Kingsgrove Bus Service #26 mo 9726 MAN 16.240 is now TV 9946, while former #21 mo 6337 is now TV 9945.
Both are with Gordon Leonard Alderton, ACN: 42773, North St Marys, replacing TV 8790 Scania 'Wild Thing' and TV 9297 Hino CCMC 'Time Warp'.

Only a handful of these vehicles I believe were imported:

716.jpg
TV 4409 of Spence's Coaches Dubbo is this Anhui Ankai of 2010 build. This unit originated with Adams Coachlines in WA.

TV-9563 is recorded as a Scania K112.

FWIW, if you can get the Service NSW app on a phone, it is easy to check up on rego details from the plate number.

Correct boronia. It has now appeared on the Travelon fleet listing with a history of its ownership.
I'd forgotten about the Custom Coaches Hyliner Scania's with Sunliner.
Thanks also for the info about the Service NSW app for checking rego details.
Unfortunately I'm a bit of a Luddite and have managed to avoid having a mobile phone to date.

Now there's a moniker I haven't seen on this board for quite a while.
Nice to see you contributing again Bedford-29.
