Wanted Starter Motor Leyland Atlantean

Postby alex117 » Sat Oct 13, 2018 1:20 pm

I have a 1970 Leyland double decker Atlantean with the motor on the back of the lower right side manual lists it as Butec or MS1A/6, the numbers on the case are IIAE47860 but hard to read so I could be off, when I crank it sometimes does not engage and makes very noisy metallic sounds, it will sometimes crank but sounds bag looking for replacement or a comment on what is wrong.

parts wanted:

1) dipstick 680 vertical
2) Butec starter motor manual calls for Butec MS1A/6? Or just Solenoid?
3) glass wind screen in front of driver lower rectangle
4) Air filter assembly complete
5) some windows on side have been replaced with plastic.

Contact Mr Motorparts in Sydney, they are good with Leyland mechanical bits.

Starter motor probably common/interchangeable with other models.

Windows would depend on bodywork. If they are flat, any commercial glass supplier should be able to cut to size.

I have one of the starter motors you require, where are you located? They are quite heavy and shipping may be expensive!!

I am in Hervey Bay Qld 4655, is it complete with solenoid and work ok? Mine was working but now when I hit starter it makes a very big gear crunch sould like its no engaging, but sometimes will but not very well, maybe bad solenoid? Be easier to replace the whole thing. How much do you want for it? I think it weighs about 60 pounds ? Where to call you?
