I'm guessing filling in for a reduced service frequency on T2?

Can't see anything about it in the trackwork information or service alerts, but sadly that seems to be the new norm: minimal details of changes unless it's bus replacement.

Customers now expected to carefully check the trip planner or real time apps every time they want to travel? Just in case the timetabled "turn up and go" service frequency has been reduced with no warning this weekend to "turn up and wait"!

At least next weekend's T1 trains leaving 4 minutes earlier from Berowra to Asquith is published. It's a long 30 min wait for the next train at those stations. Although the reduction from 30 to 60 minute late night and early morning was never mentioned.

Tangara 101 has a red front plate and the rear it has a Black plate should just be arriving in the Riff right about now

Also around the back of Auburn is a two carriage Tangara with just the lead carriages marshalled together it's parked up next to a couple of v sets

We seem to have fallen back onto rumours and 'informed leaks' as the Minister appears to have given up on announcing anything through TfNSW media releases. Has he actually resigned and not told anyone?

Couldn't be that lucky.

4:45pm from Central to Newcastle Interchange has failed between Eastwood and Epping, issue with the rear 4 cars. Initially tried to get everyone to move forward 1 by 1 but not enough room. Has now been stuck there for almost 2 hours. Hope the toilets are working!

Luckily for Sydney Trains it failed at a location that didn't impact the network too much - not sure what happened but that amount of time taken to get all the passengers off the failed train seems unacceptable.
I was on the 6.45pm Central to Wyong train and saw the failed train on Eastwood platform 3 with all the passengers waiting at Eastwood, so I would say it took just under 2 hrs. At least the 6.45pm to Wyong train was extended to Newcastle so passengers going past Wyong didn't need to endure another wait for the next train.

Some weird transpositions today. 124H went Hornsby, Gordon, Chatswood, Central. Skipping the city underground stations. 138 run also skipping leaving a huge gap in service for Penrith trains from Wynyard and Town Hall.

Trains were desperately late after that Beecroft freighter breakdown.

Noticed that NextThere and Tripview are now showing load data for some trains. Seems to be limited to A and M sets only. Is this data collected through weight sensors or another means?

Weight sensors so it can do it by carriage.

NextThere also reportedly uses data from previous days to predict

It is interesting to look at bus loading predictions on Next There. Especially when a bus is "full" 10 minutes or more before it has even left the terminus.

I assumed that it is actually reporting loadings on its previous trip. But then I see that the 06.18 393 service to Central tomorrow is already full.

Oscar carriage ONL5980 absolutely stinks reminds me of an issue with the Voyagers in England (relatively new train) of the trains stinking of Urine.

Yes , has spent most of the day doing Gosford-Wyong-Gosford shuttles, testing the Automatic Train Protection system.

That's what happens when someone urinates in the carriage, duh!

The event information for Vivid this year says that "services that normally start/terminate at Chatswood will extend to Olympic Park". Does anyone know what services these are? I can't find any that start or terminate at Chatswood.

this would be referencing Hornsby-Chatswood shuttle services.

Quite a good write-up on the situation in NSW:

Haven't these shuttles disappeared from the weekend TT since 26/11 with the introduction of the all day 15 min Epping service?
