hmmm. The Western Region map shows M52 travelling via Hermitage Road, West Ryde!

There are also the recurring errors of M54 running via Pembroke Street, Epping and the deviation of 144 running up Herbert Street, St Leonards, when in real life, it does a U Turn at Royal North Shore via Reserve Road.

^ human error(s) or computer error? I thought computers were supposed to be getting more powerful all the time, but it seems more glitches come with the package. Maybe we need to rethink our over reliance on them if they can't figure out a bus route, where we did fine before.

There is a lot of discussion about this on the franchising thread - please discuss there and not here.

Got a response from TfNSW today about their pdf timetables. I was told that due to a high level of complaints, they are working on reintroducing combined area timetables, with a priority to have all stops and express variants of the same route in one pdf. As someone who thinks that they should never have got rid of the combined timetables I think this is a good sign.

They have been working on this for at least 12 months. Last I heard they were hoping to have this available by the middle of this year. I am following this up regularly,

Since the recent timetable changes, some interesting rostering late at night I have now seen regularly -

545 on its new truncated route regularly gets the Volgren bodied bendies late at night (10-11pm). Tad overkill, but good for the people that can enjoy the additional space.

288 now (regularly) uses the Custom CB60 1.5 door bendy buses late at night-time.

The Eastern Region guide hasn't updated all the service changes around Randwick, rerouting of the m50 & 310 is shown as routed via Banks Ave instead of Bunnerong Rd.

While the driver goes to the loo this old girl is seen just sitting at Glebe point. I remember a time when all you would see on the 431 were Mercedes-Benz O 405NH's and 0 305's. They may be very underpowered but the do sound very enthusing with that ZF 5HP500 and merk Hubs.

Good stuff.
Thats probably a good service to allocate these Benzs. It's flat, does not require a high speed as it operates the whole route in congestion with ultra frequent stops and has about the right capacity for the route. The lack of acceleration and underpowered engine does not really matter here.

Two former posters here said they loved driving them, despite lacklustre performance. I'm really appreciating them now. Better late than never eh?

That is a nice photo, and a nice terminus too. I like the termini that are one way loops (another example is M20’s Gore Hill), much more interesting than randomly ending in the middle of a main road. I too also like 431 generally speaking otherwise for its sheer simplicity. It was nicer though back in the day when it had its unique section up in The Rocks.

I too remember those older days on 431, nowadays the newest additions to 431’s roster are Bustechs and CB80’s (both Scania).

The desto text on some of the new Volgren Optimus (Scania) is a bit too large and as such part of the route number has been cut off:

Check the disposal list [unfortunately no clue to the reason it is no longer in service].

Did more research....on a 440 from Leichhardt/Rozelle to Bronte, December 2016, fire at rear, along George Street.

2273ST remains on the Waverley Status at the moment.
It has had a bit of work done to it but not for a long while and needs a lot of work done to be ready for service.
Expect this bus to be written off.

Caught Y’s Metrobus branded 2198 on the 15:00 Epping to Parramatta 546 service today. Nothing much, other the fact that I recall that these Metrobus O500LE CNG’s are generally used on M52, M54 and the occasional M41 service.

Get used to the fact that red Metrobuses are going to be found on other services all over Sydney, and regular buses will be on M routes. Hardly worth reporting anymore.

As expected, the Sydney mediocre disease reigns supreme in the end. Nothing works in Sydney because Sydney doesn't work anymore.

Actually there's one exception M40 Gladys to Malcolm bus (Chatswood to Bondi), thats my closest Metrobus, is, of course, unchanged. You can still catch it today, peak or off peak and its about a 95% chance that you can be guaranteed a nice spacious red Volgren bendy. The other 5% is a peak hour standard bus that disappears as soon as its not needed anymore but again you don't see that on M40 everyday. What have I seen the past couple of weeks elsewhere?

M10, nope, VSTs and 0405NH's now make up a significant portion of runs. 2112 Scania Volgren bendy prototype now at Leichhardt could be 'dedicated' to M10 like 2110/2109 was on M30, but again, I actually fear this bus might face an early 'retirement'.

M20, nope, Volvo B12BLE CB60 EVO II from North Sydney, there were four today in the daytime off-peak. 2110 and/or 2109 prototype buses aren't even a 'guaranteed' daily appearance on M20 like they definitely were on M30, well, RIP. The late night short runnings to Zetland are relatively quiet yet they've retained the bendy buses.

M30, nope, some Volvo B12BLE CB60 from Tempe, but this one has the least number of standard buses running on it compared to the others mentioned

M50, nope, 0405NH galore
