As predicted, RMS are starting to re-issue gaps in the TV plate range starting in the low 1000s. TV 1089 is one example on a Higer.

Noticed a Premier Shoalhaven Yutong has been registered on National Heavy Vehicle plates. Is this a first?

This post has gone silent for some time now.
Any clarity yet as to what's happening with the TV plates or their replacements ?

The RMS seems to have gone back to TV.1000 onwards, and has started handing out those plates that were never issued originally.

On that basis, it will probably be quite a few years before they once again reach TV.9999.

Two questions ...

1. Are they only issuing those plates never issued the first time around, or are they also re-issuing the plates that have since been surrendered over the years.

2. What was their reason for having retained what seems like about 10% of all plates in the series.

I saw a plate today on a Mercedes Vito minibus TV 11 LL (black on yellow). I've emailed the operator whether that was a personalised plate or a new TV format, still waiting to hear back from them.
The driver didn't seem to know the answer.

Checking on MyPlates, it seems that TV-nn-aa series are publicly available (except 12-LL).

If you ask for a random TV-nnnn number, it says that number is not available (although I don't know any unissued number to try). But interestingly it does throw up alternatives starting at TV-0001, and a few TV-2nn plates. But selecting any of these brings up a pop-up saying number not available.

From this, I would assume that the plate in question is not a new TV sequence. Also that TV-0001 onwards are earmarked for future release.
