Can definitely agree about (possible negative) sentiments towards 2112 from STA. It's quite a rare bus, it seemingly only had a chance to show up on M20 in recent times, and even then, still uncommon. I have not seen 2112 now in over a month, whereas the other bendy prototypes, namely 2109, 2110, 2111 are a common sight daily. Which is of course, nice.

Curious to see which routes it'll serve in L, hopefully more road time and not a premature retirement

And to think it almost made it as the standard Metrobus bendy. The govvie buses don't seem to have a good innings when it comes to east west mounted engines do they?

2137 on the 425 what a complete and utter waste of a bus on that route the 425 could easily be run with midi buses like Optare solos or those small nasty vstm's

I'm finding these sorts of things very common with the new runs out of R6 depots. A bendy on a 425 whilst the M10 is VST after VST.

It can sometimes be an operational advantage to put a large bus on a run like that for one trip. You would need to know what it did before and after that run.

Don't worry P using more bendies including metrobus bendies on the 393 & 395 particularly on weekends as probably a substitute to m10 having less bendy buses.

I've found the the new m20 runs that there aren't any reliefs at Zetland previously there was both P & T buses.

STA trying to do everything they can to make themselves look bad so the public feels better about a new operator taking over. The Libs ofc must be feeling pretty happy about this.

STA is known for its poor job regarding rostering buses, you only need to know two words, "380" and "overnight" (and possibly a third word to go with that - "VSTM") to just affirm how incompetent they are in this. CDC does a good job in my opinion of allocating buses of various sizes according to route + what time of the day it is, but STA, it's like a kiddies playground as to what bus gets sent where.

Today I saw M10s and M50s in rigid buses instead of bendys. I thought Region 6 had enough bendies for most M10s and M50s runs.
Lives in Region 9, loves buses in Western Sydney.

Even if they did, they clearly don't intend on using them on the M10 and M50. This have been discussed a bit here, they couldn't care less AFAIK.

Region 6 never had enough artics to operate 1/2 m10, 1/2 m20, 1/2 m30 & 1/2 m50.
Now Region 6 is operating 100% m10, m30 & m50.

If there aren’t enough bendies in Region 6 at the moment, will Transit Systems be getting in some double deckers instead? They have done so for T80 so maybe they will do so for Region 6?

All bus procurement is approved and largely set by TFNSW-so I suspect that double deckers will be the high capacity bus of the future for high capacity uses.Thats a foolish way to do it,It should be a horses for courses approach to bus procurement and allocation.Especially with the entrenched attitudes towards all door boarding and unloading.

The lack of bendies is a bit of temporary issue until the SELR is complete that will mean m10 & m50 are abolished and that should free up some bendies. Double deckers wouldn't work too well for the inner west nature.

If a good proportion of the buses in Region 6 go through Burwood (Burwood Road) then we could forget about that one. :shock:

But the M routes which are the main concern (except for M41 but is mainly standard buses anyway) do not go near Burwood.

Yep, understatement of the century, anywhere east of Strathfield. Hopefully the new operators will counsel common sense.

Double deckers got around that problem in the past by detouring to Shaftesbury St and using the bridge there.
