Ritchies Dunedin
Here's some photos from the Ritchie's Depot located in Parry Street in the wharf area of the city. This site is just for bus parking as there is no workshop setup instead mechanical work appears to be outsourced to Dunedin Truck Servicing. Admin is based at the Ritchie's Travel Centre closer to town on St Andrews Street.
Ritchie's has also taken out a full page advertising feature in the ODT and a double page one in the smaller star paper about the companies arrival back onto the urban bus scene.
Not all of the following vehicles will remain in Dunedin but instead as indicated by the above ODT feature will be replaced by higher spec brand new buses with plug doors.
Buses parked up today were:
2005 MAN 12.223's: 690, 691, 692, 693, 694,
2005 Scania L94's: 702, 703, 704, 706

Re: Ritchies Dunedin
Good Photos Reece. I'm surprised that Ritchies have gone so far in deciding where every single bus will park when they aren't in service.

Re: Ritchies Dunedin
Great pictures and info of the current Dunedin scene, thanks for posting.
Re: Ritchies Dunedin
Pleasantly surprised to see Ritchies putting on a more professional image - my memories of their presence in Dunedin in the past was a shambolic fleet.
Re: Ritchies Dunedin
I think getting runs in North and West Auckland has forced them to smarten themselves up...

Re: Ritchies Dunedin
Really? I could have sworn it was "Carlton". I stand corrected!
I see the dreaded Bike racks have made it to Dunedin.

Re: Ritchies Dunedin
Considering their age I doublt they'd be in any passenger service for a while now. Maybe old enough for movans or the chophouse.Tas Bus Nut wrote:They probably don't want to use that cr##py word either . . . Car. . . on!!! Yeh, pity about those stupid bloody bike racks. Re: Ritchies Dunedin
I managed to find it. It was 372 in the Transperth fleet. Does anyone know if this bus wore the Cesta Livery? or just plain white South Eastern instead?Mr OC Benz wrote:Unfortunately I don't remember off by heart, but I know that it is one of the earlier ones possibly one of the 300series Mercs...

Re: Ritchies Dunedin
If anything, why do any buses that come from Perth to NZ get bonded windows???Cordes Express wrote:Woo Hoo Awesome.... Thanks for that! I wonder why they bonded the windows?
Our ex-MTT12 MAN SG192 currently at Leopard as #20 got bonded windows. (Although that might of been done at Okato Bus Lines???)
A few Mercedes at Bethlehem have bonded windows.
And this Southeastern Mercedes has bonded windows.
Are there any other ex-Perth vehicles in NZ? Other than the ones I've mentioned.

Re: Ritchies Dunedin
It could have been suffering from moister, water leaking from the origional windows considering its age, or just a timely refurbishment to give a much more appealing look??Cordes Express wrote:Woo Hoo Awesome.... Thanks for that! I wonder why they bonded the windows?
I tihink the former in this case...
ex CTS... the I'm uncertain of its whereabouts as it was for sale last year in a not so happy state and origional windows...Mr OC Benz wrote:Are there any other ex-Perth vehicles in NZ?
