Sighted 2x CR228L low floors destined for DBS passing through Adelaide today, it may be an illusion but they looked slighter longer

Another Mercedes Low Floor destined for the top end was seen in North Laverton today, having it's air conditioning checked, before being delivered.
Possibily a new one for BusLink, as I was told there were improved services starting later this year.

Got a report yesterday (Saturday 25/9) that there were 3 new Low Floors destined for Darwin laying over at Sundowner Motel in Sunshine Vic.
Probabily left from Volgren Saturday morning, and will arrive into Adelaide Sunday evening.

Just spotted 3 Volgren bodied buses in Darwin bus livery going through Glen Osmond in Adelaide. All 3 were unregistered & had now company decals.

Not knowing costs, however I would have thought it would be possibly cheaper to put them on the Ghan. They'd be worn out before they arrived in Darwin

The drive from Volgren to Darwin is a part of the test phrase before the bus enters revenue traffic.

I was told by BusLink staff that this was started years ago when deliveries started coming from Melbourne.
Buses depart from Volgren mid afternoon, stay in Melbourne's outer West Overnight, then Adelaide, Coober Pedy, Alice Springs, Katherine then Darwin.

There was a write up about a delivery run made by Darwin Bus Services vehicles in ABC a few years back.

Would DarwinBus get many bus deliveries in the middle of summer? As I am sure that would be a great test or is it too hot for those delivering the buses (in case of breakdown)?

The new Merc's were for Buslink, they got 7 of them and they are all in service now. I will see if I get time for photo's, might be a few weeks.

Sorry all, due to personnel circumstances I have been unable to get out and get photo's, hopefully in the next few days when some of the things with the ex are off my mind I will be able to.

During the height of Carlos bus services were haulted on Tuesday evening, a few days later after a comprehensive road and bus stop inspection services re commenced on Thursday, this was last week.

Sorry all, I have been unable to get some resent photo's of stuff up here as I have been back and forth from other parts of Australia.
On top of all that, after next week I will no longer be in the NT. I am moving to Newcastle to take up a job with PN Coal.
