I like Holdens much better forever, But we had an Xr6 rental car for work and it looks absolutely fantastic on the interior, I didn't get a chance to drive it, but sitting in the drivers seat looked great anyway!
We also had a Toyota Aruion rental car. I was surprised, it was actually not to bad. Interior looked very nice, drove well, sudden fast acceleration from slow speed caused the steering wanting to pull left a lot, other then that I was actually slightly impressed, for an accountants car standard.

Yes, the Aurion is one of Toyota's better models. I don't mind it, looks good in silver.

I hired this FG XR6 for the day from Hertz last month.
Starting off on a chilly morning.

Taken in the afternoon near Thornleigh Railway Stn.

Here is a pic I took of a BA XR6 2 years ago which looks very much like the BFII model the FG replaced.

Deanes,

There's one way to tell the BA MkII XR6 apart from the BF and BF MkII XR6: look at the surround on the fog lamps - on the BF, it has three staggered lines moulded into the plastic, whereas on the BA, it doesn't have them!

We have 2 FG Falcon XT taxis in Dubbo - have been in both of them..... I think they're a marked improvement on the BA/BF!

I've ridden all models from XA to FG and I can wholeheartedly say it is the most dramatic improvement I have ever felt in a Falcon !
What I loved about the FG is the refinement is out of this world without losing that characteristic growl of the 4.0 six.
It shows how much effort Ford put into making such a great car out of the existing platform to match it with Holden's $1 billion whole new car.

The FG Falcon is in an entirely different league when compared to the VE Commodore.

In real-life tests, the FG with 6-speed ZF is more driveable AND 10% more fuel-efficient compared to the new VE with SIDI engine.

Source: http://www.theage.com.au/drive/motor-ne ... -gqou.html

I would take an FG Falcon XT with its 195kW/391Nm I6 engine any day as opposed to a piece of s**t VE Commodore Omega with its lacklustre 190kW/290Nm SIDI V6 engine.

Dave,

I do agree with ya! These FG Falcon XT taxis in Dubbo are smooth, well refined cars with their 195kW inline 6 and the 5 speed auto.... would love a FG G6E Turbo though!

tbc1983,

Love the bottom one.... the white Transcontinental 4435 with the Cobra stripes! The Transconti, as it's known, is just the truck above, the LTL9000, with a European cab on it!
