Some years ago in Parramatta I was accosted by a religious 'salesman' and when I shook my head meaning 'NO' he continued to follow me going on with his piece.
His final words after some distance and no response were 'Do you even know who Jesus is ?' to which he got a two finger response from me.
Here in Katoomba we have a few 'sects' as I call them that seem to bundy on/off and put in their token hour or so street work, but they do leave you alone unless you show interest.

Another thing that makes me angry is AUTOCORRECT! I made a mistake in one of my threads and accidentally said ‘Months’ instead of ‘Days’. I blame Auto correct.

Major screw-up with the Newcastle Christmas bus that left me very disappointed & wasted my time.

So according to the Timetable for the Newcastle Christmas Bus it was suppose to have a quick driver relief break at 10am Hamilton depot then continue back on route 13 to Newcastle (Bolton St Temporary Terminus). While waiting for 10AM to come I sat at the bus stop Trip planner told me to be at. Well 10AM rolls around and a route 13 bus shows up as noted by the bus stand timetable, CB60 EVO II just like the Christmas bus but it's 49xx something instead of 2078 ST and it's not decorated. Confused what was going on I wait another 16 minuets for the next 13 bus to see if it's running late or it was swapped around to a later time for whatever reason. Well the 10:16 AM route 13 bus shows up and it's a Bustech not decorated in Christmas tinsel or Christmas anything.. Still not the Christmas bus.

Puzzled and confused, I make my way down to the Hamilton Depot and into the enquires & lost property area (well reception) and ask the receptionist what's going on with the Christmas bus and he gives me times at first when it's suppose to operate it's next run and what not. Then before leaving I ask him where it started it's run at 10 (rather continued) after stopping at the Hamilton depot. He says at 10 AM at the bus stop I was at, I tell him that it wasn't the Christmas bus that showed up and was 49xx something. He then jumps on the phone and says "Christmas bus" and then after the call he tells me it's off the road until after 2:30 PM. Sigh I left disappointed and had to trek to the shops to get my weekly groceries taken care of. Well get shopping done, hop on a bus and who or what do I see going past... friggin 2078ST decorated in Christmas stuff on the road operating route 47 and I was told it wasn't back on the road until after 2PM

Not pleased Newcastle Transport and the Facebook Page for the Christmas bus made no mention it wasn't going to operate the 10AM 13 route otherwise I wouldn't have bothered wasting my time and perhaps photoed other buses or something. Now I'm going to have to try and find a day off I can take out of my busy schedule to try and get the Christmas bus and for the love of buses hope it doesn't get canned again.

Is this bus in question anything enthusing in the sound department? What's so noteworthy about it excluding what I assume is it's livery?

Can't remember about sound if your referring to music, I was on it last year and filmed it (of which I uploaded a video of to my youtube channel)and seemed pretty alright, plenty of nice Christmas music and some drivers even went as far as to dress up as Christmas related characters, my driver last year when I caught it was the Grinch, not all drivers go full on with costumes, some still wear regular uniform and just put a Christmas hat on.

The bus still has the standard Newcastle Buses corporate V2 livery but just has temporary Christmas decals and stickers applied to it. Inside has been done up with Christmas lights, bells, tinsels you name it. And the monitor screen that cycles through CCTV cameras on the bus has instead a slideshow of photos of the Christmas bus and some PAX that have rode it playing on it.

It's a big thing when it happens and sister depot at Belmont use to run it's own Christmas bus in conjunction with Hamilton Depot but I read somewhere from an current employee that the person responsible for Belmont Christmas bus left the company and Belmont isn't running one this year. To be honest the Belmont Christmas bus doesn't get advertised and promoted that well.

It's just nice to see a decorated bus and they really put a lot of effort into decorating the bus, adding music, setting up a slideshow. It'll be nice to ride it one last time as it's been rumoured and probably said it's not happening again next year and this could be the end of the Christmas bus as we know it :(

I'd be happy if Hunter Valley Buses did one Christmas bus like their Hillsbus Depot does too but guess we can't win at everything in life.

Real buses have built in music, even if they don't have speakers. I've been on about 122 of the 125 SL202s built new for Adelaide, and there are about 17 of them which produce distinctive engine sounds, with the rest being average in my opinion. This kind of ride doesn't sound like something I'd find pleasant.

And which grinch are you referring to? There are plenty of them infesting the streets of every city in Australia.

I don't have actual proof of this, but I have a suspicion that Coles is intentionally not restocking the shelves where one finds flavoured milk until the ones that expire within a week are all sold out. I can almost never find a 2 litre ice coffee that has 2 weeks before it's use by date.

It does get annoying given that the number of supermarkets in Australia seems to be declining, and hence less competition.

Saw someone driving a Nissan X Trail at speed while texting on her mobile phone near Chadstone yesterday. Wish the cops were around, I would of given her a nice big ticket and impounded the phone.

Also those food delivery drivers on bikes, they are the biggest pain in the bum, they think they are invincible. A red light means stop, not go through and nearly get cleaned up by oncoming traffic.

What about those Deliverude riders and the like caprured on CCTV flagrantly riding through road tunnels in Sydney that are off limits to cyclists and being completely oblivious to the danger they ate putting themselves through and possibly motorists who have to merge away from them or come to a near stop and throw traffic flow into chaos.
I've nearly been collected by cyclists on the foot path lately and had one years ago who flipped me the bird after I yelled hey. He was in the full lycra garb too.
Uber and bus services are very similar. Customers who don't deserve the service they are getting and blame defaulting to drivers.

Then there's the "Coles (Propaganda) Radio" they pipe into the joint. After a couple of songs you get the "Why not try Coles this? You'll love Coles that!" I honestly don't know who would fall for their corny advertisements.

Another day, another upset bus driver with the cranks for me taking a picture of their bus in a perfectly legal public spot that I was more than entitled to take a photo from.

I had most of a day to kill before heading out for an evening social gathering so I thought, why not head down to Sydney. The majority of my time down there went well, stuck mostly around Chatswood, then Wynyard for about 20 minutes then had to head back to Hornsby via the T1 train (ended up getting the wrong T1 from Wynard that goes via north Strathfield instead of back towards Chatswood direction. Well I arrive about a good 25 minuets before my connecting CCN train was due to arrive to take me back to Newcastle so thought I'd take some quick photos of what ever buses were laying around Hornsby station.

Again it was going well until the 3rd bus comes by and the driver stops at the crossing at Hornbsy bus interchange (near where the bike racks are, look on Street-view if your not sure where or what I'm talking about) opens he's driver side windows and he asks what I'm taking the pictures for (you can guess at this point he's got the craps because I'm taking photos of the bus but more so he thinks I'm taking photos of him) I tell him "personal use only" as he quickly caught me off guard and I didn't have time to think of a better reason on the spot and then he whinges on about something and I tell him "look I'm more than entitled to take it from where I'm standing (Again I was not on the station side, but the side where the bike & phone booths were) and to keep on driving" as there's no point in arguing with a argument you've already lost. No, I didn't tell him he'd lost the argument but I knew he lost it and wasn't going to win. I think he quickly moved on after I told him he has no right to privacy in a public spot if that's he's concern (not being mean but just saying in general) and he did chip in and say yes he knows he has no rights to privacy in public spots so whether that was because I corrected him or he knew I don't know, and if he's thinking he has rights of privacy in a public spot then he's wrong. In case your wondering what company it was, it's a bus company that runs plain white buses that begins with a "T". Not a good nor professional look for them to be approaching anyone like this.

I went and spoke to staff at Hornsby station to clarify later on if the spot I took the photos from was theirs (as in NSW Trainlink Property) or councils, they said yes the station itself is "private property" but weren't sure whether the spot I took the photos from is theirs or Hornsby Council. Anyway I've seen on YouTube and the internet from many other known enthusiasts go here, take photos and video without trouble and no one bothers them or says anything, as for myself I stay out of the way and make sure I'm a spot I'm legally allowed to take them from.

As another poster on here pointed out a while back, we're more so interested in the buses, not the drivers and we're not doing this to annoy or upset them but if the drivers want to pose for a photo in front of their bus that's fine and their more than welcome too. Sometimes as well there's buses that aren't laying over so if you want a photo of that particular bus you either have to take it or miss out. With all due respect I do try to get photos when I can when the bus is indeed laying over (as in parked and not going anywhere and when it's completely empty including the driver) so please don't think I always go taking photos when the bus is moving around and being driven, but that's not always possible and I'm not going to miss out on a great opportunity to get a photo of a bus.

Anyway another thing I want to say is I love how people go through or past 100's of CCTV cameras a day, get recorded and captured on them and don't give it a thought, yet someone shows up with a DSLR camera or digital camera whatever and takes photos that their 100% are entitled to take and suddenly chaos breaks lose

What has become of our society?

Walking past someone sitting on the floor ajacent from the entry of a shopping centre using a power outlet that the centre management normally reserves for a leased vending machine or kiddie ride to charge their phone I saw a young woman that looked in her early 20s doing this at around 10:00 this morning when I entered Campbelltown Mall from Queen street

Gee all that just to say that a bus driver didn't like me taking a picture of the bus he is driving.

No, it's public property. Only Green Square, Mascot, International & Domestic stations are private. The track is at those stations is state owned. Olympic Park is also a state owned station, but its track on the balloon loop is private.

This jackpot CB80 (V2) shitheap I'm aboard right now. Same problem as always. The demented bell tone being far too f***ng loud for my ears.

Honestly, what made Custom Coaches come up with the idea to change the bell tone to something so stupid?

Strathfield Station during the Boxing Day bustitution which was replacing trains between there and Lidcombe, while having an express bus to Blacktown.

1. Travelling between Strathfield and Parramatta (If you're travelling from Strathfield to Blacktown, congratulations; you have your own express bus! If you're travelling from Strathfield to Parramatta however, TOUGH CRAP! Go and join the hoardes going onto the South Line on the buses to Lidcombe and change over! If you don't like it, go to Everton Rd and join the 525-- oh, wait; there's still the gigantic line-up full of people waiting to go to DFO! Looks like the "Second CBD" isn't that important enough to have a separate rail bus from Strathfield at this time. I mean yeah, trains were still running to Parramatta albeit from Lidcombe/Olympic Park, but JEEZ.)

2. The clustercrap of traffic resulting from poor traffic management (No bus routes in Strathfield were being stuffed around with quite more than the M90 and 450. Replacement buses were picking up from these two routes' stands and there have been a handful of times where there's been a 5 or 6-bus-deep line-up standing still for about 10 minutes [you'd even have Telfords and Rover drivers leaving the bus parked right in the middle of the lane to chat to the bus marshalls.] As a result, drivers on routes M90 and 450 have come off Strathfield about 10-15 minutes late just from waiting behind all the rail bus drivers. I nearly missed the last 450 since its driver had to go around the mess and pick up from the 480's stand. To make things even more fun, there was a 2-car crash earlier on the left turn going off Raw Sq into Albert Rd towards the station, blocking some of the buses.)

But then who am I kidding? The traffic situation in Strathfield is always garbage anyway.

Dear Woolworths and any other supermarket chain that do this;

If you are going to reduce the price of a product or put it on special or discount it in any shape or form can you please make sure it actually scans at the reduced price at the checkout and not full price? That's just a scummy move when you reduce something and it still scans full price at the checkout and nearly rips of a customer.

Luckily I was taking notice and quickly realised I was charged full price instead of the reduce price and quickly had the issue fixed all the while still at the checkout.
