Correct Industry.
This was Redline No 4 or 6 at the morning tea stop at Ken Somers Cafe at Aratula on the southbound Bris/Syd 2 day tour in the early 1950's.
No 3 was a similar Ansair KS5 however she was adorned with rear wheel arch spats and a tubular chrome side skirt rub rail. And very possibly by this time Rex had converted her to rear engine and forward control.
There's a photo of that converted coach in my book, which I've now decided to publish online with free access, due to my frustration at the lengthy process involved in trying to have the story traditionally published.
BTW that's probably a Warwick based Grimleys Coaches AEC in front of the Redline, on a service to Brisbane.

Yes that's definitely a Shuttlewood body in the background - highly likely one of Grimley's.

Do you have any idea of the fleet number of the coach you posted looselion?
This coach would be ex Redline No 53. Bought by Bob Shaw of Tintenbar who owned a septic tank business.

The Moonie oil field, approx 350 kms west from Brisbane was big news back in the early '60's and as a coach touring operation we thought it prudent to begin including this location on the destination rolls in new coaches coming on-line.
Centre Safari tours began to divert out to the site but the single well derrick and associated single jack pump at the time seemed insufficient visual reward for our tourists, so little was done to target this as a "destination" in its own right.
Within a short time the field had something like five or six wells and associated jack pumps, with the crude oil initially being trucked out to Brisbane by road tankers....until the pipeline to the new Amoco refinery on Bulwer Island in Brisbane was completed in late 1963.
I guess in the case of No 41, pictured in the late '60's at the Melbourne terminal, someone had probably rolled the desto in jest and decided to leave it on what was by then a quirky location.

No Industry, looks like a Centre Safari camp site on a very wintery overnight on the fringe of a little town who knows where....
I can say this was very likely in 1961 and the Denning to the right of picture was No 22. The other was either 27 or 29....I can't get closer than that.

What a great series of historic photos from the Collins collection!

During the production run (fleet Nos 22 to 29 inclusive) of these first eight Denning coaches which were developed specifically for Redline, changes were made, one of which, beginning with No 27, was the relocation of the desto from below to above the windscreens.

No 28 was fitted with a bull bar so this makes the Bedford SB based coach on the beach either 27 or 29.

I'd love to know where this was......
