Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
At this rate we will have hovering buses before we ever see anywhere near 100% TNSW livery.
I think it is safe to say that the TNSW livery idea (like so many NSW government initiatives) has fallen out of favour due to it no longer feeling like a "fresh start".

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
Well one operator *cough* STA has been repainting most of its buses in corporate V2 mostly the O405NHs and the Ansair Scania. Since TfNSW won't pay for the repaint into TfNSW livery.

I must say, in the case of the 0405NH gas heaters, thank goodness after I saw 1213 the other day.
Deep blue waistband looks a lot better than pastel blue chevrons thanks.
Though, I'd like to see a few more Orana style Volvo B10BLEs be the recipient of the chevrons.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
It makes you wonder what the point and cost of the TFNSW livery exercise is if STA -the government operator ,is no longer repainting their buses in it.
Unfortunately it has just left the Sydney route bus fleet across all the contracted operators just a hotch potch of different liveries, without proper branding of individual operators ,or routes.Really the current situation has completely defeated the purpose of carrying out the TFNSW exercise.
Should have just left it as it was..

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
With 1488 TfNSW liveried buses of about 5092 in the metro areas (Sydney and Outer), the current percentage is about 29%. Most operators are around this percentage, with Coastal Liner, Port Stephens and Transdev trailing, and Busabout, Punchbowl and Transit Systems ahead. As stated previously, with updated liveries mostly applied to new buses or at mid-life refurb, it will take at least 12 years from when the new livery commenced until all are done.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
The Busabout percentage should be a lot lower as it is 57 out ot 117 and not out of 60. See the link on page one of this thread.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
The only operator who has taken the TFNSW livery seriously is Punchbowl who is very close to having their complete TFNSW fleet repainted.Unfortunately it was also the operator with the most distinctive individual livery.
The least compliant is Transdev, whose fleet is probably the blandest and poorly presented out of all the contracted operators.
In the above list about half of the operators listed have non TFNSW contracted buses in their fleet.Example is Port Stephens whose TFNSW fleet is about 22 buses out of a fleet size of 71.That would alter the percentages of TFNSW to total fleet.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
Forest's total of 121 includes 14 vehicles which are either coaches, buses off contract used for charter work, second hand buses purchased for charter work and the one Rosa.
From memory only about 12-15 of Coastal Liner's vehicles are used on TfNSW contracted services. The confusing part with the Outer Metro contracts is that high floor school buses (eg a SB50 body) can be in the contract for school only shifts, so picking them out from the day coaches is difficult unless you know the detailed utilisation of the fleet.
There is also the technicality of whether to include Forest & Coastal Liner's hybrid 'green TfNSW' liveries in the figures.
I suppose this raises the question of whether an additional field (and another level of complexity) is desired in the fleetlists to note if a vehicle is on a TfNSW contract? And yes, I fully understand that the fleetlists are provided to us at no cost by a band of volunteers who could be doing something else with their time than follow up on every suggestion put forward here.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
Looking at the figures provided shows some pretty sobering facts about the TfNSW livery.Maybe the idea was good to have a uniform livery at the time but in reality the rollout has a been a complete failure.
Various levels of compliance to address the livery only serve that it will take decades to rollout completely. The public is not interested in livery but quality of service, safety, value for money and providing the service that meets it's needs.
Operators with contracts have lost their identities to just be goverment contractors thus their personal pride and presentation takes a back seat - they do their best on what they are provided with and paid for but when business is only running on a fixed term contract with no guaranteed renewal of contract and you dont control your destiny, you can understand the operators position.'
Overall, when you see the presentation of vehicles, patch work liveries,AOA's covering many vehicles,it all reinforces the perception that standards have fallen.
Final point is that other transport entities have also given up on livery change.NSW Trainlink Regional has decided to remain in base Countrylink livery on rail rolling stock.Several XPT power cars and trailers have just been repainted in Countrylink colours.
Look, many will disagree with my views - take it or leave it but if people knew a few years ago when this all kicked off that this would be the state of play in 2016,it might have been canned.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
So much rapid change in state leadership hasn't helped.
They should have just introduced STA corp v2 to the rest of the operators, once they effectively became government run anyway.

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
It has been almost 6 years since the first bus in TfNSW livery was introduced. I don't recall TfNSW publishing any milestones relating to this long running project. I do wonder what the benchmarks and milestones are or if indeed they do exist at all?

Re: Summary of Buses in Transport NSW livery
If there were any, I think they have disappeared under the latest government which appears to have withdrawn funding for such repaints.
