Australian HO scale buses
This post is taken from my Facebook page. Facebook.com/brisbanesmodelbuses
**** ATTENTION HO AUSTRALIAN RAILWAY MODELERS ****
**** PLEASE SHARE THIS POST WITH HO FRIENDS ****
Next year I will be launching my first HO scale bus. However, the model is to be decided by you. State, model, era, fleet number and route is all up to you. Also depending on the model, we may be able to organise accurate adverts (not AOA), depending on the era.
Please share this post with your model railway friends. The more interest I get in this, will mean the more HO products I can bring out.
As always, it will be a limited edition bus, with only 200 buses available. The price is TBA, however similar models are selling for $135 delivered.
Happy modeling
Mick

Re: Australian HO scale buses
Thats grwat to hear another model is possible, but after the investment the collectors has made, all manufacturers have modelled Australian buses all in 1.76.... another model I feel should be in 1.76 too, is the issue with all over adverts financial or so?? We have had problems here with the licence and usage.....

Re: Australian HO scale buses
I've seen some HO & OO buses on some HO layouts, and to me, HO scale buses look a bit "under scale", even though they're the same scale.
White lives matter too.

I already have two OO models in production, but the first HO, specifically for the Australian model railway market, will be released next year.

Re: Australian HO scale buses
Do others think that Sydney government buses in HO scale look slightly underscale for HO layouts, that's if they're used on model rail layouts?

Re: Australian HO scale buses
From a business perspective, the production of HO models makes sense as Australian model railways are in that scale and it would be a whole new market for Brisbane Buses. My personal preference is 1/76 as I find HO buses too small for my display collection. Indeed, that is one of the reasons I started collecting Australian bus models from Trux and later Transit Graphics. My interest in Sydney and other transit systems then grew from there. I will continue to collect 1/76 but I understand and respect the notion of pursuing the model railway market along with the collector market.

Both HO and 1:76 will be available. the 1:76 will continue to be built as limited edition collectors items, the HO, although limited, will not be classed as collectors items.

Re: Australian HO scale buses
Hi all,
I asked recently here, and a few other places if there was much interest in my business making a 1:87 bus, and what sort. The results said either a BT Leyland Panther, or a Denning Grehound.
As I'm testing the the water in the QLD model railway scene, I could knock together a few hundred of the Panthers in about 3 months. However it would need to be a (gulp) crowd funding exercise.
Would you be interested? What fleet number, route, rego etc, would you be interested in. Also which livery? Multiple desto stickers can be done also.
If crowd funded, I can start work... pretty much this month, and have them ready before November. Or ad them to the 'to do' list at my expense would be 2017.
What do you guys think?
