Wouldn't there be a couple of different shifts they could schedule to offer a few different options for the DD? It would create more buzz turning up at different times each day than creating a larger patronage on the same service times per day.

Looking and comparing the C1/C2 timetable new versus old there will be 8 less trips in the mornings to the City on weekdays between first bus and 9am,and in the afternoons there will be 6 less trips from the City between 300pm and 700pm,including reductions in trips from Pulteney Street(Hindmarsh Square).

While you note a small number of reduced C1 services jibb, I noticed that the 559 now has trips running to/from the City - Certainly there are no City bound trips in the current timetable; and in fact I don't think it's done that at all since its introduction!

The double decker will pass though Hahndorf making one stop, also stops at stop 16 on the freeway.
Also do people use stop 16 on the SE Freeway, Mount Osmond exit ramps.
Nah, not many people use stop 16. Personally, when someone presses the next stop button for stop 16, I groan because I believe it to be a dangerous stop because the bus is trundling along at 100kph(nearish, more like 70, but whatever) and then has to pull to a sudden stop. Dad said once that on route 864F (citybound) that someone was waiting at stop 16 and the driver didn't see them until he had passed them, so the driver to call the next bus behind him to stop there!
First person on 822, 865 (2016 re-route).
Last person on 164, 867, 868

Route 262F from Brighton Station to the City has gone from 5 morning peak hour trips to 2 and from 2 evening peak trips from the City to Brighton Station to none.

Some signs have gone up at bus stops today-they are pretty much generic-is "Your bus service will have new timetables fron January 25th".
Obviously too many routes to list.

Should never have gotten rid of it.

C1/C2 servicing Golden Grove to TTP will run all stops after 3pm, and not 6:15pm as is the current situation.

So glad that the C2/548 combo has been extended to run 7 days a week.

Diesel_MAN wrote:'Another thing to note is that the website lists 'time changes' for the 350, a route that from a few observations seems poorly patronised, though not one change was actually made to it. It would be interesting to find out exactly how many services got these non-existent 'changes'.
Note the changes on the 440/441/442 are listed as "no change" where the last 443 for the evening has been removed.

140 morning bus services from Glen Osmond to the City via the Parade have been removed with only 144 services via Grant Avenue.Strangely the afternoon peak still has some 140 services via the Parade.
Both the 140/144/147 have had major time changes to their weekday services with a few trips deleted.

No 501 service departing Mawson Lakes terminates at Ingle Farm anymore, including the evening services.

All services have been extended to Paradise Interchange

I would say the 140 services on the down are kept to avoid right hand turns from Grant Ave onto Portrush Road.

Big shout out to Southlink for addressing the 224/560 running together up and down Philip Highway....NOT!

Also... what is the point of re-routing the 400 past Central Districts Private Hospital? To create a better service for the hospital and the people who live around the hospital?

A quick glance at the new timetables to gain an example during the middle of the day. A 400 leaves Salisbury for Elizabeth at 11:15am. A 560 leaves at 11:22am and a 224 leaves at 11:24am. 3 buses within 9 minutes past Central District Private Hospital and then nothing for 20 minutes.

During the off peak it appears to be the same every half hour. A 400, followed closely by the 560 and 224.

Well the rerouting will probably enable folks from all areas served by the bus to get to the hospital. It's quite pointless sending buses by Commercial rd anyway, as there is virtually nothing to serve.

However, this frequency issue along Phillip highway and at the Lyell Mcewin is something that really needs improvement. How hard is it to adjust a departure time by a few minutes so that there can be a 15 minute headway?

I heard something on Facebook once that someone had a dream where there was a 224 at Salisbury at Ann St going to Elizabeth, and the driver had to lay over until the 560 was directly behind him until he could get permission to proceed. Then the same requirements at the Lyell Mcewin, and then proceed to Elizabeth with the 560 virtually tailgating the 224. I don't remember everything about the comment, but this occurrence is not far off reality.

So the last train that people in Craigmore can get is the 8:50pm, too bad if there is a sporting event on or you finish work after 9pm
Next station is Victoria Square. Change here for all trains.

Great to see the 541 returning to off peak services to and from City, and good to see a few 559/559S services coming into and leaving from the City for the first time since the Route started. The 8:15am 546X from Para Hills to City has been brought back as a City service instead of terminating at TTP. Interesting to see increased number of 506 AM services starting in the City and 556/557 services have also been brought in starting from the City between 8am and 10am.

Great to see the 548/C2 services increased to weekend and night as well, and personally I'm glad the 544 has come in to replace M44/M44X services that don't service Marion....less confusing especially to those who don't use buses as much. Looks like the Sunday M44C/M44T services have been replaced with a C1T, nothing much more than a number change there.

Overall the O-Bahn changes in general look good, so hopefully they will work well.

On a seperate note the 229 has had the last service at night cut, so the last 228 to connect to a 229 leaves Vic Square at 9:15am (Mon - Fri) and 9:43am (Weekends). Seems a little too early, but must be due to low patronage surely?

The DTEI might as well just make all services after 6PM that operate into the northern Southlink contract area an N224 and N502, and operated by a rigid (maybe an NL for the 224, and maybe one of the St Agnes ones on the 502 from Paradise as well.

That would be a dream come true for the government. Maybe scrap the one hour train frequency as well and run them 2 hours apart with one carriage :P

Is anyone going to ride on the bus to operate a service that is being removed? I am thinking of riding on the 1755 867 on the 23rd of January.

You will find that a lot of gunzels try to get one last ride in on deleted services, whether they be on the last day or a period leading up to it.

If you have not been to Gawler yet, I suggest a round trip on a 492 before it get cut back. Maybe even a 407 in its last week and spend over an hour in Virginia for the return 900. If you are lucky and get a midi or an NL out to Virginia, it can make for a fantastic ride.

And, a Midi on the 491 and 492 are well worth the experience. Rockier than a boat in the ocean in parts!

And - depending on when the new N1 timetable starts, I may do the last 593C from GGV.

If the old timetable is still operational that night, I might do one of the last 593C's, then the last C1 to Elizabeth and a N224 into the city.

It will likely be the old timetable in operation as its considered a Saturday service as far as rostering goes

Quite a few of the "After Midnight" services commence their shifts a couple of hours before, and run normal Saturday night services before becoming After Midnight trips.
