Here are 2 photos of the same coach.A Freighter Lawton Step Deck bodied AEC.Taken in Adelaide(West Lakes Shore) mid 1970s,around 1975 or 1976.I thought this was a Leyland at first until I found a photo of just the front in focus. Its an AEC.Other photos of STA Roadliner in Adelaide.

Please contribute to this post if you can.

I just want to thank everyone for their contributions here. This post became very popular.Whats the next coach model to start a post on?

This is a cutting from T&BT, but I don't have the date. My guess is that it is 1967.

I remember seeing these on the road when I was younger. There were others built on different chassis I'm sure of it.It would be nice if others could contribute here.It would be interesting to see what there were.

This one has the larger windows than the original post, a fine looking coach for their time.

Henstridge's Road King Express operated a daily Melbourne - Adelaide service with Freighter bodied AEC's in the early '60's. These units featured air conditioning.
I have no photos but I'll bet System Improver can come up with something.

To System Improver, thank you for posting some brilliant photos.

I worked at Associated Tourist Services in 1984 and 1985.The albion wasnt there but they had a Freighter Lawton Scania on chater.

The Bowmans buses brought back memories. In primary school we went to Port Augusta (Mundullio) on a 5 day school cap.We went on one of their Deck and a half coaches, possibly one of these.

Thanks again to everyone for contributing. Its a great post.

I remember seeing Adelaide Coachlines owning a Freighter Lawton bodied Albion back around 1985.I think they have just finished refurbishing it.It was an identical unit to the Associate Tourist Service photo posted above System Improver.
Anyone remember that bus?

As for the York Peninsula Albion,Associated Tourist Service had one. I think it was one of Percy Graeber's buses when Len Johnson bought that company.
