O405NHs in 900-series livery
Recalling another livery that has vanished, here's some 900-series O405NHs...
1168 & 1170 were used for the unveiling of the new 920 service at Kwinana Hub Bus Station on Sunday 2 April 2000. 1168 is now in gold & grey livery with Redlion in Esperance.
Circa 2003, 1190 turns onto Canning Hwy, Como, from the Kwinana Fwy off-ramp...
... and 1194 climbs up Waverley Rd, Coolbellup:
I wish to add a list of buses that carried the 900-series livery to the recently created MTT / TP Special Liveries section on http://www.perthbus.info & would welcome confirmation of the vehicles involved & the dates they were painted into grey/green. Thanks in anticipation

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
1168 to 1177 inclusive, assigned to Southern Coast Transit and based at Rockingham Depot for the 920 service (10 buses).
1190 to 1198 inclusive, assigned to Southern Coast Transit and based at Fremantle (O'Connor / Palmyra) Depot for the 940 service (9 buses).
1735, 1736 assigned to PATH Transit and based at Wangara (?) Depot for what was planned to be the 970 service - never introduced (2 buses).
Total of 21 buses in "900 Series High Frequency Buses" livery.
Note that 1168, the first one done, had the wrong shade of blue applied - it was a bit lighter than the others, just discernible in the 2nd pic where 1168 is following 1170.
1178, 1179 and 1180 were painted into orange Fremantle CAT livery around the same time as 1168-1177 received the blue and green.
I don't have exact dates of repaint to silver and green, but 1735/6 were repainted after about a year (after expiry of some warranty period, iirc), following some debate within Transperth, and involving both operators, as to whether to temporarily transfer them to Southern Coast for use on the 920 and 940.
From memory, 1168-1177 were repainted during 2004-2005 and 1190-1198 were done in 2005-2006, as each bus went through the equivalent of what the MTT used to call '1st heavy overhaul' (although the process is less intensive / extensive / invasive these days due to advances in technology).

1735 and 1736 went to Malaga depot to start with then 1735 went to Bayswater. I dont remember if 1736 also went to baysie but a look thru some old allocations will tell the story. After Baysie Im pretty sure they went to Joondalup and were painetd back to grey and green.

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
1172 (might of been 1173) was the last bus left in this very attractive 900 series livery, it remained like that for quite some time after the others were painted...they weren't painted in sequence.
1170, 1176 and 1194 weren't painted at FLN were the rest were done, still quite noticeable today as these buses appear much more 'glossier' than the other and the fleet-numbers were positoned in the same place as the later OC's.

1735 was Baysie's highest in the boom days when they had 1700-1735...1736 remained at J until it was moved to Wangara around 2003.
I actually think that some of the 119x batch were delivered to Rockingham as the 940 service hadn't commenced when the second batch was delivered.

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
Almost right - they were delivered to Fremantle / Palmyra / O'Connor Depot during Dec 2000 / Jan 2001 and were loaned 2 or 3 at a time for a few days each to Rockingham Depot for running on the 920 'to iron out any wrinkles'. The 940 commenced in late January or early February 2001 from memory.perthbus wrote:I actually think that some of the 119x batch were delivered to Rockingham as the 940 service hadn't commenced when the second batch was delivered.

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
Just wondering what was the route for the planned 970?
It is sad that they took this livery away, was there any reason for that?

Payback is a bitch, but is fun to watch.

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
before rocky recieved its gas buses and the transfer between sct and path, the ex 900 series livery o405nh fleet at rocky was something like this: 1168-69-72-73-74-75-76-77, 1191 thru 1198
1190 and 1199 was at freo depot(quote me if im wrong)
recently ive notice the gap between the doors lights and the doors/windows on tp1174 you can still see the old livery
but i still miss the old 169 route with a 900 series livery heading along mandurah tce!!!!!

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
The earliest date I have of driving 1735 at Baysie is 21/09/01. The last entry is 09/11/01 so I dont think it was there for very long.

Re: O405NHs in 900-series livery
I wish they would bring this livery back, it is by far my favourite and suits these NH's more than any livery i've seen (and that includes throughout the world)
hah, maybe when one of these goes into preservation, it can be painted into this livery as it is no longer used and not the transperth green and silver therefore can be driven on the road as pleased.

I have also been wondering as now there is a Perth-Mirrabooka service 970. What was the route?TP 3000 wrote:Just wondering what was the route for the planned 970?

I'd post any important, bus-related links I had, but they're outdated anyways.
