London (And Europe!) Calling
Hi everyone, I landed in London today, and after leaving our gear at our house, went straight into the city. Here are some photos I took today. (Not the best, but taking photos os buses is far from my first priority)
First though, here are 2 photos I took at Woodlands Interchange in Singapore
I'm pretty sure the following photos were taken on Regent and Oxford streets.

Great variety of photos, from a great variety of locations... I bet you're having a great time in the EU, I know I would.

I like the fact that since the start of the 21st century, the 2 numerals on a GB numberplate denote the year of registration.

While in Lille did you get to ride on two tram lines which they call the Mongy and using Asaldo-Breda trams.
Previoulsy known as United Diesel 15
Re: London (And Europe!) Calling
I didn't get to ride on them, but I did ride on their metro, which I'm led to believe was the first driverless metro in the world.

Snow is lovely to look at in pictures. Been in snow 3 times in my life, and that is 3 times too many where twice was in the same calendar year. April in Montana, USA and September in Salzburg, Austria.
Great photos though C130.

By the way, any trouble with trying to take photos/videos?

I haven't moved here, I've just taken 2 months off work to escape some of the heat in Australia, plus have a look around Europe.Newcastle Flyer wrote:How come you invad, I mean moved to London?

I can't stand the heat, so being in the snow was a really nice experience for me. When I took most of the photos in Stockholm, it was hovering around -3ºc, and at some points while in Scandinavia, there was a 40ºc difference in temperatures between where I was and where I live in Australia.
I'm off to Düsseldorf and Cologne in just under 2 weeks and snow is already falling there too.
There have been random forecasts for snow flurries in London, but nothing as yet, although there was a large amount to the south west of London a few weeks ago.
Spot on.Newcastle Flyer wrote:[Yep, near or at Abbey Road Pedestrian Crossing.

And taking photos in London? No troubles so far, and given how many tourists there are walking around with DSLR's taking photos of everything in their sights, I don't expect any either.

We rented a house in Ealing, about 10mins from Northfields Tube station while we were in London.Newcastle Flyer wrote:[When you said house, I thought you moved in with the Poms.

Re: London (And Europe!) Calling
I thought that would have been closer to Ealing Broadway.
How was the aircraft noise, since you were close-ish to Heathrow?

Re: London (And Europe!) Calling
Our street was off Northfields Avenue, which joins Ealing Broadway/Uxbridge Road. Ealing Broadway station was about 20mins walk away, and West Ealing was about 15.
And I personally love aircraft noise, so it was no issue for me. Having double glazing in the house helped when there were late night flights, but most of the time it wasn't an issue.
If I ever go back to London for a significant amount of time, I'd like to try and make sure I stay near where I was this past trip, as it was just 25mins on the tube into London, a quick minicab or tube ride to Heathrow, plus it has excellent public transport with 3 stations plus a huge amount of buses running every few minutes all around.
