All the Volvo's at MBL, have now had their ticket machines, myki and radio removed. While it was expected they would leave to head over to S.A last Friday, they have not yet left, though can't be too much longer before they leave for S.A.

Travelled on a very new Dysons bus on route 566 from Greensborough to University Hill at 5:11 tonight. Upon sitting down noticed how hard the seats are. Well, we are just one step away from LA and NYC all metal vandal proof seats, aren't we. No padding, just a thin layer of fabric. Next step will be to drop the fabric, pax will just sit on bare metal. This is the norm in LA & NYC and this is where society is heading. It was bus number 7XX something, I took a note of the number but forgot it by the time I got home- dementia. It was a Scania/Volgren I think.

Yeah, definitely the most uncomfortable seats to ever be installed in a Volgren - I consider myself lucky that they never ordered these seats for any Smartbus vechicles, given I travel over a hour to work on the 902 each day.

Here's a shot I took of the seats onboard #715 (Scania K280UB, Volgren) in April:

Kind Regards

It's not just the lack of padding that make them uncomfortable IMO, the seat pitch also leaves a lot to be desired.

yep :!: i would prefer the old seats they look really hard, but if they put some more foam in :?: it might be more softer :?:

Definitely noticable compared to the previuos seats. Although I'm not usually complaining about getting off the bus after an hour on the 902 either, but I think the seat pitch and distance to the seat in front has something to do with that too...

Go West of Bunbury have acquired a number of Mercedes 0404 3 axle units from Dysons - 4 have the 'tiptronic' transmission - confirmed are Autobus units 209 & 210, also an APT liveried Austral Denning unit was in the paint shop at Go West.

Does anyone have any photos of Dysons #722 or #723 (Iveco Metro, Express HLF)? I'd love to see what Express has done with the rear and/or interior of the new buses.

Thanks,

It has always been Dysons thing to move any new acquisition into the Bundoora depot, but given how modern the Reservoir depot is, I wonder if they'll keep it?

MBL & East West are completely seperate businesses.
Operationally Dysons will take over the running of East West but stays as a seperate business.
MBL will be the same as it is atm until the new contract is announced.

Route buses at Bundoora, coaches at Reservoir?

Otherwise that's a handy space for extra commuter parking for Reservoir station...
