Date Published: Friday 13 January 2012

Latrobe Valley residents are set to benefit with a major boost to the number of bus services from 23 January 2012.

More than 800 new bus services will be introduced to towns including Traralgon, Moe, Morwell and Churchill.

The popular Moe to Traralgon intertown route will run every 30 minutes, seven days per week. The Morwell to Churchill and Traralgon to Churchill intertown services will also gain more buses.

Local routes will start earlier and finish later with a more frequent service, seven days per week.

The changes will improve connections to intertown bus and V/Line train services in the Latrobe Valley.

Most routes have changed to accommodate these improvements to the bus network, with some areas gaining service for the first time.

From Monday 23 January, passengers are advised to check journey planner before they travel.

Updated timetable and route information is available on this website by visiting regional bus timetables.
Kind Regards

Craig :)

A new Latrobe Valley bus timetable booklet in standard viclink style effective 23 January 2012 has been produced. It runs to 140 pages plus fold out network maps for Churchill, Moe, Morwell & Traralgon.

Although large booklets like this are a timetable collectors delight I can't help wondering whether it wouldn't have been better to produce several smaller booklets as happened with Geelong a couple of years back, perhaps three covering Churchill/Morwell, Moe & Traralgon?

Davis Bus Lines also have one booklet for all routes
You got a real flash bus, but my one's flash one, eh
And I believe that my one's faster than yours, Mr Bond
'Cause mine's a red one'

The size of the Geelong/Bellarine network, and the frequency of some of the services in that network, mean that a single book would be too unwieldy. Latrobe Valley, consisting of one frequent long line, some less-frequent long lines and a bunch of short circular routes, can have their timetables published in one book with little trouble.

Geelong did have a single book until recently.

Until recently there were two books: one for "metro" Geelong (the GTS network) and one for the Bellarine Peninsula and Surf Coast (the Bellarine Transit network). Following the most recent recast of services across both networks, the current arrangement straddling the old GTS-Bellarine boundary was introduced.
