hmm. Now that A11 has been deemed "mature", A15 mustn't be far off. Maybe it'll even pip the original introduction of 12/6!

The terrible weather has once again closing the South Coast Line.

Just wondering which bus companies will be able to come and help this time.

South Coast Line - Part suspended
Trains have been suspended between Waterfall and Thirroul on the South Coast Line due to heavy rain activating safety monitors at Stanwell Park. A replacement bus service will start operating at 5.30pm. Passengers are advised to delay their trip until then or make alternative arrangements.

Is the bus super-express, operating to Gerringong before returning to Dunmore and continue to Kiama?

When I was waiting for a train a couple of days ago and I saw this section of tracks on one of the Railcorp managed major rail corridor.

This reflected my memory about some years ago when ARTC had made a mess on the Main South Line when they replace timber sleepers with concrete sleepers.

I just wondering would trackwork needs to be done in such situation cos looks some section of rail has even lost its support from the base and surely if anyone is on that train trip it will be pretty bumpy. (Particularly in the first photo)

^ yeah so that's a mudhole. The proper fix is to dig up the track bed. On the Main South this occurred because sleepers were replace in situ (AFAIK, literally from the side, sleeper for sleeper) which disturbed a base already in dubious condition, and thus allowed water to come in and pool.

A16 seen on the AMF commissioning track this morning, stopped at Clyde platform. First time I've seen a train on this line. Also seems they are changing the signalling on the track, again.

I just wondering who can I complain for that mudhole and organise an emergency trackwork for that. It's gone worsen overtime and I'm afraid it might start to cause some accident as trains can operate 100km/h

Disturbance made worse by the concrete sleepers being deeper than the timber ones, so the insertion displaced ballast which had been under the timber sleepers, and/or resulted in a sleeper seated further into the mud.

1. Saw A5 bound for Macarthur at Glenfield, the front driver carriage didn't have anything displayed on the destination board but 'Macarthur' was displayed on the rear driver carriage.

Same thing happened on A8 yesterday both driver carriages didn't have anything displayed on the destination boards , not sure which service so probably South Line service bound for Campbelltown or Northern Line Epping.

2. Not the first time I've seen one, but here's a picture of an M-Set at AMF

Why do they go there sometimes?

Saw that item mentioned on Seven News. Judging from the footage, it looks like the advertising will only be a small billboard style fitted to the space between the two decks. Also it was mentioned (by Gladys) that the revenue from the advertising would be used to pay for the (continual) refurbishment of the T sets.

It was quite funny to see the ad on the train with a bit of grafitti near the doors. I mean, shouldn't Cityrail attempt to remove the grafitti whilst the train is in depot and being plastered with ads?

Can't see the image, but there are often other sets there, presumably for special maintenance. Also I think for washing?

There has been a L set there for over a week.

The picture wasn't a good one anyway, on railpage they said it was there for washing, as it's cheaper to do so there than at Flemington.
