From the Naval base stop on the Tasman Hwy I spotted the front of a bus poking out near one of the jetties in front of the Regatta grounds. It was without livery and had a front and centre full width doors. The forward window was panelled over. Thats all could tell from that distance, anybody know what it is (or was)?

 I know

Did anyone ELSE notice the large number of NW Coast operators down in Hobart today (especially @ the Hobart Aquatic Centre). Noted was Wallace Coaches' King Long, Wynyard Bus Lines with PMC160 body, Phoenix with PMC160 body, Sainty's, RH Saintys' BCI midi just to name a few. ALSO, after FINALLY managing to get to the Cenotaph to photograph the ex Sydney O305, IT HAS GONE

At the traffic island at the intersection of Sandy Bay Rd & Davey Street, excavations for new traffic signals have unearthed a short portion of grooved tram rail and a sleeper. The rail is from curved track and is badly corroded. The sleeper is a bit battered and decomposed, but very recognisable. This photo was taken at night, a better daytime photo is on the TBCS Facebook page. The rail clearly visible is the inside rail of the curve, and I thought that the outside rail must be gone until I took a closer look at this photo, you can see a remnant on the bottom right. These are very old relics, the last tram passed by there in December 1952.

Just saw a Road Safety Advisory Council ad featuring a resplendent looking Jack's Scania 112 (ex Metro 101). The message is a timely one on safety for school kids when leaving buses. Anyone know how old this ad is?

Former Metro 517 is now running for Macrae Bus Lines on Melbourne's Mornington Peninsula - it retains busy bee livery with additional signage Conti Bus as its main role is a pub shuttle for the Continental Hotel.

Spotted ex #511 (i believe so) parked in Amy Street, Moonah; at the Fiat/Alfa Romeo yard behind Caltex. Who's in possession of that bus now?

508, 511 and 521.

521 was there for a while and then moved on.

510 is still at Bridgewater, the next to leave is 513 which is awaiting parts to fix an oil leak before being sold.

Did anyone see the photo in Saturday's Mercury in the boating section. People lining up to buy fish off a fishing boat in Victoria Dock with all the trolleybuses lined up :?: Must have been on the Davey Street side of the dock before it became a major arterial route through Hobart.

guys,, just a heads up,,, scanners do not transmit and do not interfere or jam radio networks,, you may be getting a scanner and a two way radio confused
