Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
Pretty tidy from what I saw of it recently. Mechanically used to sound supreme when at Leichhardt 10 years ago but now sounds like a typical worn 24 year old mark V since being passed around.

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
My mate went to TG office today & picked up 3140 for me
After seeing boronia's model I thought it would be wiser for for pick up, I'll get it when I got to the ACT next time.

Couple of pics of my impressive model. The crooked Urban Transit logo is noticeable.

Replacement 3140 #073 arrived today, with bumper bar intact.boronia wrote:Picked mine up from the PO today.
# 095 for 3140
# 127 for 3225
Unfortunately 3140 has a broken off bumper bar, so will be going back.
There doesn't seem to be many many numbers reported here, was there not a big take up by board members ??

The Metro 10 m/c on my model is crooked, I'm not to fussed about it, for other who have purchased the model, is the m/c square or crooked and is it positioned within the doorway or in its original location as when the bus was new?

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
Why does the real 3225 have the white number plates, yet the model shows the yellow number plates?
See: http://www.shop.transitgraphics.com.au/ ... 871/id/262
http://www.shop.transitgraphics.com.au/ ... 72/id/262/
Is it me, or does one side look more slopey that the other side?

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
3225 would have had yellow plates prior to 2000, and if it was already in that livery then, then the model would be correct.

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
I noticed on the TG website that the prices for the next releases have been reduced from $165 to $125. I hope it will allow more collectors to be able to buy them

The best way to get more collectors to buy them is to make more.

The 0305G/artic will still be priced at $165 & the other models are priced at $125.Bairstow wrote:I noticed on the TG website that the prices for the next releases have been reduced from $165 to $125. I hope it will allow more collectors to be able to buy them
Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
But luckily for us who already have acquired one or more of the MK5's the value will go up once they have being sold out, I don't intend to sell any of the models I have purchased but I do like the idea of the models selling like hot cakes.boronia wrote:The best way to get more collectors to buy them is to make more.

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
You can also purchase these models at Hobbyco Sydney for a $15 mark up on the online price. I've just bought both Mk 5s - superb craftsmanship. I wish these guys would make a Mark 2 - my fears about the "toy" Trux version ruining the market for a serious Mk 2 model appear to have been justified.

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
Well if they are priced at $180, its still cheaper than buying direct & paying the shipping.Ray wrote:You can also purchase these models at Hobbyco Sydney for a $15 mark up on the online price. Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
hmmm I think it was cheaper than that - will check.
Just been advised that Transit Graphics will be releasing a Mk 1 and Mk 2 model - great news! Now where am I going to find the space for 550 models....

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
Well, it took a little longer than I had originally thought but, these models have made it on to evil bay. Currently $51, advertised for sale by someone at Leichhardt. My guess is the Museum. Be interesting to see what price they achieve and to see if their sales, (I'm guessing they have more than 1 set), will sink the 2nd hand market.

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's

Let's see what happens.

NO QUOTING OF IMAGE PERMITTED - I shouldn't have to put that on here, but since people do. .sta wrote:Could I ask what does the Mk 1 look like, because I've never seen one before.

Re: TransitGraphics UTA & STA Mk 5's
As in the picture above, very similar to a Mk II, the main (cosmetic - external) differences being the doors and shape/roundness of the roof profile.sta wrote:could i ask what does the mk I look like, cause i never seen one before..
