Buses on a boat

Post by wongm »

I was down at Queenscliff over the weekend, and spotted a trio of Western Coach Services buses heading from Queenscliff to Sorrento via the Searoad ferry.

I should've got some photos from down on the car deck...

There are three Queenscliff - Sorrento ferries:

MV Queenscliff and MV Sorrento are the usual vessels, the former was refurbished in Launceston during late 2011, Sorrento was built there in 2001. Peninsula Princess is the original vessel, being much smaller it looks completely different to the others.

During February MV Queenscliff was out of service to have a new passenger lift fitted between the car deck and the passenger saloon.

The shiplift at Launceston is operated by Southern Marine Shiplift, a joint venture of Peninsula Searoad Holdings (the Queenscliff - Sorrento ferry company) and Cummins Engine Co.:
