One of 4 Orana's all setup for "coach" work.
11 (ex Hobart Coaches was always single door)
10 (ex 643)
12 (ex 621)
628 (also has a towbar)

These are all destined for Burnie in the very near future (rumour was today )

Vague? Talking about the lack of rear door. Doesn't matter where it was travelling to.

Hi em tea tea. In regard to your Q, the MAIN reason #628, #10 & #12 were converted to single door, was to increase seatring capacity, cause at that time, they were doing Hobart Coach work, and Metro were selling off the high capacity coaches that HAD been operating. #628 was basically a back-up Hobart Coach, whilst #10 (ex #643) replaced a 55 seater coach initially, so by removing the rear door, it increased it's seating capacity from 42 > 48. #10 also received better (more padding) seats, unlike #12 & #628. #11 was always a Hobart Coach, and as such was always a single door with 49 semi-coach seats. They were always allocated to Hobart, obviously because they were ex "Hobart Coach" vehicles (so to speak).
As yoda says though, ALL single door Oranas are being transferred to BURNIE (allegedly in the next couple of days). So keep your eyes open, as there may :?: be some strange numbered buses floating around Hobart shortly (or numbers we haven't seen for a while) Cheers TBN

Yeh I know. As the old saying goes: "it won't happen overnight, BUT it WILL happen" IMO, I reckon WHEN they go to Burnie,
#192 & #174 will go to Lonnie and #138 & #139 will come home to roost (or is that rust)

I went on #11 today. Seats are great, the change in transmission wasn't! Very jerky and clunky.

Probably because it's been off the road for months!

Always been like that (well years anyway) Hopefully the mechanics in Burnie can fix it
