143 rigged up as a training bus

Postby royaltiger » Fri Feb 10, 2012 4:02 pm

Metros former Fleet 143 has been given a makeover as a training bus. Fleet insignia and numbers have been removed and the bus has been painted all over white. Large fixed L plates have been fitted front and rear with warnings to motorists also on the rear. The desto has been covered over with the words "Metro Training". Inside the rear facing seats over the front wheel housing have been removed, and a large section of the bulkhead behind the driver has also been taken out. 142 apparently will be similarly treated. Sorry about the poor quality.

Cannot understand why you wouldn't have the Metro logo somewhere on the bus   Above the L plate on the front would be OK.
Should have AOA on the sides advertising for drivers   Like ON THE BUSES TV show. "Oh it's a great life on the buses" (false advertising)

That is an excellent idea! Put it forward Neil, you can only try, right?

Although, I have an idea (just a little one)... maybe Metro is considering a general training bus that can be hired for those wishing to seek a Medium Rigid licence? It'd be like any regular driver training, but with a bus.

Has been suggested many a time... just like having dedicated training vehicles (which out of the blue happens)

I think that Maybe Metro should paint their Trainers Like the Christchurch Transport Board did back in the 1990's with one of their Bristol RELL's Number 516.
