Which depots have you been to?
Hi all,
I'm wondering which depots you've been in your life. I've been to sWAn's Southern river depot, SCT's Palmyra depot, sWAn's Beckenham depot and sWAn's North Fremantle depot.
Cheers!

Funny enough on Sunday the 889 had a bus change over at Malaga (heading to Perth) so thats the first and only time I have been in a depot!

This is probably not something you should all be bragging about, nor a thread that should be on a transport forum. Remembering that some of us (me included) are not employees of the Public Transport Authority, we have no reason to be in any PTA Depot... A lot of Depot Managers, Operations Officers etc... read this forum and seeing this post imo, will give them plenty of reason to start questioning drivers...

I disagree. Members of the public are welcome at all depots.

Re: Which depots have you been to?
I can see where your coming from , but i can see at minimum of atleast two legit reasons why any joe blow from the public can walk right into a depot. This is probably not something you should all be bragging about, nor a thread that should be on a transport forum. 1. Picking up lost property.
2. Job application.
And all by chance , you can end up at a depot like Laptop 15 did.
Now that my 2 cent + 1 worth, that does'nt add up to much .Funny enough on Sunday the 889 had a bus chamge over at Malaga (heading to Perth) so thats the first and only time I have been in a depot

Re: Which depots have you been to?
Which makes me wonder, I believe this has been a common practice in other cities in Australia and New Zealand, where buses on route with passengers goes into a depot to be refueled, and then drivers are changed also at the same time.
Which also makes me wonder, I wouldn't of thought that it'd be a good idea to be changing buses over and passengers in a bus depot where a lot of buses are going in and out to start runs.

Re: Which depots have you been to?
Where in Australia on urban services is it common practice for buses (with passengers on) to go via a depot and be fuelled mid trip?
No operator I have ever been associated with would even consider that. Changing over a defective bus in the depot mid trip with passengers on - yes, I've done that or arranged that many a time... (and with trams also) but never to fuel the bus with passengers on board.
By the way - I don't see an issue with this thread - just so long as no one says last week "Bob" took me to depot X

Re: Which depots have you been to?
I visited Penang within the first week of RapidPenang starting & one of their supervisors diverted a heavily loaded service trip off course specifically so that I could see one of their new depots. Refuelling mid-trip is also a common enough feature in Penang. I've also visited a depot in Kuala Lumpur.
But I presume the question relates to Perth depots, and I guess with a Transperth / MTT focus, so...

Shenton Park
Trigg/Karrinyup *
Wangara
* worked out of there

Now that I think of it, I *HAVE* been to Mundaring depot, a few years ago. That means that the only depots that I haven't been to would be Jarrahdale and Nowergup.

Doesn't have to be a TP depot. That's my understanding of this thread.

Re: Which depots have you been to?
Well your correct renaultartic. I forgot to say any depot that a Transperth bus has been ( e.g Albany ). In that case I also been to Whiteman Park.renaultartic wrote:Doesn't have to be a TP depot. That's my understanding of this thread.
